What is the red arrow by the catch circle when fielding?

Sometimes when fielding a fly ball (mainly in the outfield) a red striped arrow will appear right by the catching circle? Any idea what it is? Im not talking about the red arrow by the outfield wall when .the ball may be a homerun,, these arrows happen in the middle of outfield

No clue, but i have seen a black arrow telling you to get behind the ball to get a running start to throw someone out.

Thats what it is he just got the color wrong.. Its awsome in my opinion the fielding is so perfect in this game

I am loving the fielding, I just wish there was a way to eat a throw.

didnt they have this in 2k6? all you had to do was hole RT or something

Thanks for the answer. Im not playing the game now (wish I was) and forgot the color. I think "eating" a throw is to make a throwing motion but not actually throw the ball, right?

Correct, either that or just not throwing. I wish there was a way to cancel a throw in the game. I don't think there is, but I'm hoping I just haven't found out how yet.
