    Contracts

Just noticed some guys who are not big stars asking for huge dollars on their contracts. For example, on the Indians with a Rafael Perez, who has one year left on his deal asked for a 1 year deal at 5.9 million. Yikes.

    Re: Contracts

Not everyone wants to stay with their team. By asking that amount, it basically says I don't want to be here, but if you want to give me a ridiculous amount, I'll live with it for another year.

Somewhat realistic, actually. Better than being able to re-sign anyone and everyone without issues.

agreed, I like how it is very difficult to sign some guys and other guys just want to play some ball. Like Barry Bonds wants 14 million a year in my 'chise, whereas Freddy Garcia, ended up signing with the Giants for 750k a year for 2 years I believe. And I went to sign some bullpen help after I unloaded Helms and Eaton to the Rays for Price(they accepted it), and I looked at Otsuka and he wanted friggin 9 million a year from me! Haha, yeah right!

Dude you completely ripped off the Rays...If "They accepted it" is how you sleep at night knowing you ripped them then so be it , but that's a trade which would never happen...Why would the "real" Rays need another 3rd basemen when they have Akinori Iwamura and Evan Longoria. To each his own...To each his own...

I traded Wes Helms to the Cleveland Indians for Jorge Julio who could be a cheap option to close games for me if I don't resign Lidge. I'm doing pretty good w/ Julio right now, and his heater is nasty. Helms is as good as any 3rd baseman that Cleveland has so he can compete for a job w/ that team, or be used if they get hit w/ injuries.

I do like the feature where the players openly announce their disdain for my manager (King Willie the Yankeehearted) and that it will cost more if he stays...

I know, I just wanted to try it and see it get rejected but they were all about it, maybe they really like Eaton, but I will live with myself on that though, haha, good pitcher for the future!
