      So go fig yourself.
Could have fooled me, since it seems both you and YankeePride have the need to go into any thread that isn't full of 2k8 praise and try to change people's opinions of the game. Bakesale hardly seems like a Show troll to me.

I'm not a Show troll at all. I'm just extremely disappointed with where my franchise is going. The primary reason why I've spent hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars on gaming consoles is because of 2k sports titles, and 2k baseball being the only one I've bought every single year without a lapse in between.

"That said," if The Show has the fun I came to expect with early 2k titles, then F$#%, I've got to shell out several hundreds on a new console yet again. However, I think I can wait. It would be quite the kick in the balls if I bought a PS3 for The Show, and for some reason or another The Show 09 takes a huge step back a la 2k6 from 2k5.

Wasn't talking about you, sorry. Nothing wrong with talking about The Show. The difference is some like to come here and constantly tell everyone how SCEA got it right, 2K got it wrong, and that anyone with a 360 is in denial because they don't own a PS3.

Do you read these forums? Yankeepride has been defending 2K8 since day 1. Initially, I had some nasty things to say about the game, but after playing it for a few days, I can see it's made some great strides since last year. I love the swing stick, although I hate timed hitting, and the pitching is a great addition.

Would I recommend people go spend 60-70 bucks on it? Probably not. Like 2K's APF, I would tell people to wait a few months until the price drops. Which is better than saying not to buy the game at all, which is what I said about The Show PS2 last year due to its framerate problems. I don't play favorites. If I like a game, I could care less who makes it or what system it comes out on.

To me the cursor pretty accurately simulates making it harder and harder for poorer hitters to catch up with better fastballs. Using the stick these days has become gimmick city.

The only problem I have with cursor hitting is that interms of realism a hitter doesn't have to move a cursor around to hit. He can see the ball and instantly swing at it without having to move a cursor around. I still think you need to be able to aim where you are swinging which is why I like the high heat system the best. Although I would certainly take cursor hitting over the swing stick.

I don't look at the cursor as something to move but more like focusing your eyes. Anyone can see the ball, it's can you focus your eyes and hands to hit the ball. Seeing the ball and swinging does not equal hit or there would be no strikeouts. I'm sure eveyone of Nolan Ryan's 5000+ strikeout victoms saw the ball but they couldn't hit it.

you can have cursor hitting without a cursor. This is what true aim and the Show with PCI off is. There is a cursor that you move, but you turn it off. It looks real. I agree...seeing a cursor takes away fromt the realism. I loved True aim and hitting without the PCI is awsome as well. To be hones the hitting system in the Show is near perfect. I would only tweak the guess pitching system a bit and I would decrease the overall power of opposite feild hits.

Also...i dont view the cursor as looking at the ball. i view it as where you are locating the bat.

Swing stick was not a horrible idea...it was a potentially great idea that was done horribly. If you took the Shows hitting system and added swing stick...that would be cool. I think the modification should be for check swings....to check...instead of pulling back...you push to the extreme right or left...its a more natural motion than pulling back

I hated true aim because the cursor was not free. A non free roaming cursor ruined the hitting system. I couldn't upper cut a ball or hit on top of it because the cursor defaulted back to the center. It wasn't a cursor hitting system at all but really just zone hitting which goes against my main point of not having the control to try to hit a fly ball or chop the ball into the ground. You have no control. If I want to hit flyballs with Reyes let me do so, if I want to hit ground balls with Reyes let me do so. Don't turn it all to the numbers and fate everytime. Cause now I have no control over either.
