Worth a pick up?
I'm reading all these bad reviews and I'm not sure what to believe. It seems like sports games that have gotten really good reviews of late aren't really that great and some that didn't are overlooked. How is this game really? Are we going back to the days when reviewers have no clue what they are talking about? OS in particular used to be really good with their reviews, but over the last year or so I've noticed myself completely disagreeing with their reviews a lot more. It's almost like these reviewers are in a rush to get a review out, and they overreact about things without even learning how to play the game first.Last edited by Truth34; 03-14-2008, 06:43 PM.Tags: None -
Re: Worth a pick up?
Well, as a great representation of baseball, 2K8 falls way short IMO. It's very choppy at times (though not as bad as many are making it out to be...it's far from unplayable) and it's not near as nice looking as last year. Also, hitting is weak(but I'm not a fan of timing only hitting, so take that for what it's worth
), and there are still too many HR's. On the plus side, animations are smoother (aside from the forementioned framerate gripes), the throwing meter works great, and pitching is a blast. I'd definitely rent it first, but it can be a fun game in it's own right.

Re: Worth a pick up?
I was a HUGE fan of 2K7, and would've recommended it despite it's little issues. 2K8 is a terrible game, and really fell short of my own personal expectations. I know people get angry or offended, but again, this is my personal opinion of the game. Save your money.Let's Go Yankees!

Re: Worth a pick up?
Everybody has their own opinion but I'm really liking this game so far, much more than I liked last years game. Nice hit variance, the fielding is good, walks for and against are decent... the only hiccup for me is the framerate I suppose. But even that is fixed with logging off your vip.

"Not wonderment," he said when asked if he was surprising even himself with his hot hand in Virginia's 108-87 victory against Gonzaga on Wednesday night, when he scored a career-best 37 points. "I was just wondering why they didn't play more `D."Comment
