But again, like I said, the gameplay IMO is for all intents and purposes is broken. Playing it for 3-4 days, and testing sliders and players ratings, showed me there are serious programming issues. The steal sliders don't work; the throw strikes sliders don't work; the power sliders barely a make a difference, which results in way too many fly balls and HR's. And lowering players' power ratings to 0 makes little difference as far as helping with the too many fly balls in the game.

As much as I like the game in many ways, I won't be buying it. And I couldn't recommend it to anyone unless those issues were somehow fixed.
I hear you on several of the gameplay/sliders. The ball/strike sliders do work in my experience (though still not as they should). What I found is if I set things to default and then put them to 0 or 1 (I also move the AI corner slider down) that it works fine. I have had games where the CPU throws 180 pitches and walks me 9 times. The problem I see is that for whatever reason, those sliders need to be set on the main screen before you get into a game. I don't know why, but if I set them in game it doesn't seem as if the changes take affect.

I just downloaded the ps3 demo, and I find this post incredibly hard to believe.

The PS3 version is much worse than the 360 version. I downloaded both demos and the 360 version plays fine. The PS3 version is very choppy.

I am a big Show fan and I was disappointed by last year's 2K game. I thought Brinkman would make a difference. I have to say that I actually like the pitching, hitting, and throwing in this year's game. It is definitely a step in the right direction. Why they released it with so many problems is beyond me. If they had made sure it played smoothly then it would have been looked at as a good step forward. I liken it to MVP 2003. The first year of that series showed promise but obviously had things that needed to be improved. It took two years but they finally perfected it with MVP 2005 which was a brilliant game.

Too bad they might not get a chance to make 2k9. Maybe Brinkman will stick around and implement some of the gameplay improvements in what could be MVP 2009.

Well, I'm surprised by you, honestly.

I give MLB2k8 at least an 8 without the issues. I have enough to compare it to. The Show is right there in gameplay videos and demos all the time.

Don't really understand this comment since there is a history of baseball games I can compare 2k8 to.
