    Real player %'s?

I am having a hard time getting a realistic amount of user hits in this game. It is either one extreme or the other. I am tired of averaging 1-2 runs a game with good hitting teams, so I thought why not let MLB2K8 rip off NBA 2K8 and CH2K8 with their real player free throw percentage option?

Of course there would be variables to this, but when a guy bats .320 in a season and 16 games in is only at .090 I start to worry. I am having this problem with other guys as well who are below .150 points of their real life averages.

I wait out counts and swing at only good pitches, but I always end up getting a long fly ball caught or a frozen rope snatched. I even toned down CPU reactions, but nothing seems to make this real. Either too good, or too bad at the plate.

Does anyone else think with a little time spent on an option like this that it could be good? Of course a player wouldn't hit the same average every year, but good hitters shouldn't perish or look other wordly in this game.

Awful Idea! Baseball is a totally different beast than FT % being controlled in Hoops and NBA 2k8.

If you want that you could always play OOTP or just let the cpu play the games.

The only guy I hit poor with last year was Edgar Rentaria but that was due to his stance and anything away was not hittable. The little I have used him this year this doesnt seem like a problem.

I think the issue is that you're basing this off of 16 games.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer
