I mean come on 2K! Who worked on the audio in this game?

Very disappointed with this part of the game. When I hit a HR at home or make a great play, I want the fans to go crazy, show some emotion. It doesn't happen all the time in this game.

Let's hope they work on this next year. It does take a way from the enjoyment of the game imo.

This is not only isolated to MLB2K8. The NHl2k series have has suffered from dead crowds syndrome for the last 3 years (2k6, 2k7 and 2k8). Can't say about nhl2k5 as I have not payed that one.

^^ crowds in soccer games have always been top notch...the chanting and singing the game is so alive with that...

too bad the announcers suck...i forget which game had the option to have spanish speaking announcers, which i would use instead of the two british guys...even though i dont speak spanish i usually switch it to them hehe adds to the immersion

Actually,I was taking a dig at the 2k guys who constantly bash the EA games for lack of crowd reaction.

NHL 08 as well, crowd is good there - traditional chants as well as chants for goalies after good saves. They also boo you if you get hemmed in your end, pretty cool.

This is what happens when your wife's father runs 2K, and you suddenly decide out of the blue that you'd love a new career as a game developer. So you start your own company, name it Kush, and then corner 'Dad' over at the in-laws one weekend and casually ask him if he realizes what terrible job Blue Shift did with World Series Baseball 2K4.

No offense but the College Hoops & NBA 2K titles have lacking crowds too. They don't feel or sound too realistic. The cheering is at odd times constantly. The reactions are blah. Honestly, it gets on my last nerves when I turn the ball over to the opposition only for them to steal it and then go out of bounds with the crowd roaring like it's the final shot. The A.I. seems to be lacking and the whole audio is just not there. They have the sound so sweet for the rims, balls, and other on-court stuff. Sometimes the crowd gets silent when you're on a run too. Maybe I'm over thinking the whole thing but 2K doesn't do crowd audio A.I. well in any of the titles I've played. It's better than before, but that's not really saying too much.......

The basic problem with the crowd is that it generally sounds like how 2,500 people would sound instead of 40,000. Sometimes it sounds pretty good, but those moments are few and far between and don't even include HRs.
