I liked how the crowds would stand up to try to catch foul balls in 2k7. Not sure why they took it out this year though.

Not really. I've always turned off the commentary/crowds on my baseball games... I prefer to just listen to music while playing. I mean it is baseball... what are ya expecting?

an atmosphere? lol. Sound is a huge part of sports games.

The problems with the crowd is not only that they are a bit subdued, but the crowd reaction is behind the action most of the time. I can hear the crowd react to a play after the out has been recorded and the ball is on the way back to the infield. And the stadium announcer lags behind so much that I just silence him. In contrast with The Show, MLB2K8 definitely feels unpolished in the sound department. When PLAYING the game I can see that it is quite good, but they have a good ways to go to get this thing in order. This is a high profile product, but it looks as if 2K is not treating it that way. If EA doesn't take over, MLB2K9 is going to have to really step up big time!
