    Just played a 23 inning game....

    Rockies (me) vs Cards...franchise game....opening day! Overall the game took 1 hour 45 mins realtime.

    Went into extra innings at 2-2, until the 14th when I hit a solo HR with Atkins. Brought out my closer, Corpas, who proceeds to give up a double to the leadoff man in the bottom of the 14th. Strikes out the next two batters, but then gives up a basehit, but it's hit hard and the man can't score from 2nd.

    So it's 1st and 3rd, two outs..I'm up 3-2, bottom of the 14th. The next guy hits one of those hard line shots that hits the pitcher...and flies up into the air in to center field! Of course, noone catches it and runner on 3rd scores.

    Finally, after both sides have numerous chances, but can't push across anything, in the bottom of the 23rd Ankiel hits a solo HR to win it for the Cards. By then both sides had gone thru their entire bullpens and had starters pitching in the game. Should be interesting to see how decimated my relief squad is going to be for the rest of the series. I guess one good thing is since it was opening day, there's a day off before the series continues...so a little rest at least.

    Anyone played one longer this year yet?

      I had a 21 inning game where paplebon threw 7 innings in relief...longest for me so far.

          ive played a bunch of looong games. longest was 17th inning. only thing that aggrevated the heck out of me was the fact that peavy pitched into the 11th. when he came to bat in the 10th im like wtf this is stupid.

              In my Buccos franchise I've had about 7 or 8 games go into extra innings. The only one I lost was to the Mets at Shae. Reyes hit a solo shot off Grabow

                  That's awesome. Sounds like a thriller. Your staff is definitely going to take a hit for a few days.

                      I couldn't put up with playing 3 full innings in this train wreck of a game... How did you manage 23 innings? Impressive. I think I would have enjoyed drinking some bleach instead.
