Awe Come on 2K!....This is was a NO NO...LITERALLY!

Guys, I can put up with alot of the little oversites in this game like the way it lists your Stats leaders in the bottom of the screen and has ERA leaders listed with the HIGHEST ERA rather than the Lowest. Or I can even put up with some of the graphical glitches like a runner starting to run up the 3rd base line on a bunt until he quickly changes directions and starts running to first. I can even tolerate a game as FRANCHISE deep as this game wants to be but still seemed to overlook something basic like allowing players to look at BOXSCORES for each team in the league on the calendar page....BUT, I simply cannot tolerate this:

Johann Santana is in the process of throwing a NO NO (No Hitter) into the 8th inning (actually a perfect game!) and even the announcers are discussing it. But low and behold the top of the ninth starts and I get to bat for my final 3 outs and what does the CPU do???........the AI manager has a relief pitcher come in to work the 9th!! Im sorry but that is just poor programming. You never ever pull a pitcher throwing a no hitter/perfect game...Come on 2k!

To even add insult to injury, the relief pitcher retires me 1-2-3 to throw a combined no hitter, and not one mention of the achievement by the announcers after the game about what just took place!

Awww Cripes!! (Shakin' my head!) How can they do that??

....Folks am I out of line here?...just say so.

I do love playing this game...but boy is it rough around the edges!

Well, what was the score and what was his stamina at? Have you heard of combined no-hitters? This does happen in baseball occasionally.

Yeah but even in a 10-0 game if a guy has a perfect game going he's usually left in to try for it...only if a guy had 120+ pitches would he be pulled...

In a 10-0 game, he definetly stays in. But 1-0 or 2-0, they might pull him.

That would be the reason. Stamina slider needs adjusting.

Even 2K5 had that. Must have been because the CPU used two P's.

That's weird. I was playing against the Sox and it was 0-0 in the 12th inning and their starter was still in.

Either way poor substitution management on both parts.

Sliders... and pitch counts. Makes all the difference. Who knows what your sliders and pitcher's pitch count was compared with the OP's. And if a CPU pitcher is gassed, of course the CPU is going to sub in a reliever, regardless of the situation.

This game doesn't even have basic CPU pitch logic, where the CPU pitcher adjusts to your pitch-by-pitch plate tendencies. Why would anyone expect the AI to have the wherewithal to leave the CPU pitcher in, just because he was about to pitch a perfect game?

This whole post is BOGUS. Set your stamina slider the proper way and niether of these scenarios will happen.

And you can't just say well whats the proper setting? It depends on your other settings are on hits etc.. but 60-70 seems about right in most sets. I look stickly at pitch counts..around 100 they should be yanked but depending on the scenario not every time...

I agree this post is bogus and the poster is looking for reasons to hate this game.
It will list the league leaders correct if you sort them correctly. If it has the highest era listed first just hit the Y (I believe this is the correct buttom) and it will resort them with the lowest ERA. It is the same for every catagory, if you have somehow pulled them up wrong just hit the correct button and resort them.

I thought you were gonna say Miller and Morgan were at fault for jinxing the no-no.
