what i don't understand is why m$ hasn't issued an apology to the developers and to it's user base for not having the patch and the DL content made available by the target dates...especially since it seems to be their fault.

they could use the m$ news feature(or whatever it's called) on the live game patches/dl content for certification, and when we can expect them to be available for dl.

Just found this from 2k boards!!

After checking the boards practically religiously for the past 3 weeks, I decided to talk to Major Nelson. As many of you know Major Nelson runs a blog with Xbox news. Major Nelson works for Xbox and is the Guru of Xbox Live. So after 2 weeks of being let down everyday due to the imminent release of the patch, I decided to contact Major Nelson and ask what is really going down.

He stated: Xbox Live went through maintenance earlier this week, may have affected a patch release, but most likely did not. Xbox Live's maintenance went as routine as could be and is a relatively simple process. If the maintenances did affect the patch, then the patch would be at the top of the queue. There is a priority system in place for getting updates, downloadable content, all of the Xbox Live system. If the patch was submitted before the maintenance then it would be first up. (Interesting with COD4 Maps being out today).

Major Nelson hinted (he couldn't comment directly) that 2k hadn't finished the patch as soon as planned and used the Corporate Veil of Microsoft to shield themselves from angry consumers.

i'd buy it. that's kindof what i've been thinking for the last 2 days anyways. i decided to stop playing by their deadlines and set a reasonable one for myself. if i cannot start my padres franchise without a glitch by monday, i'm selling/trading/returning the game. i know it doesn't really hurt MS or 2K, i'm just tired of having to check a message board every few hours to see if the game i want to play the most is playable yet.

I feel ya man its almost like 2K gets off on this ****.. They did this with the demo as well... I mean what do they do set a date then delay it on purpose and sit back and read message boards all day and laugh at us..
Im sure heads will fly this year at 2k sports since TAKE TWO is there parent company.. The same makers of Grand theft auto.

So Major Nelso who works for XBOX and is the Guru of Xbox Live said it is not XBox live's fault and put the blame on 2k???? Imagine that!

Ben Brinkman has certainly lost his MVP swagger. I'm thinking back to some of the interviews he had before this game was released. I especially remember him discussing the demo and saying that it would be out "SOON". Soon in my book is just that....SOON!!! Not after release..........

I've lost all respect for him and the 2K baseball franchise as a whole...........SHAMEFUL

Same as 2K has done to them for the past 2 years. I know MS is considered the Evil Empire and all, but I personally see this as 2K playing games with us (the consumer) and using MS as the scapegoat.

I honestly don't see 2K owning up to it!!

I doubt Brinkman can do much about it unless he stole all his MVP developers and brought them to 2K. We have to face the face that the 2K baseball team is just not that talented, and clearly the corporate cats don't care as long as the game sells enough to make a profit, or they would have made some changes long ago.

Quick question, was Kushgamer the only 2k voice we had on here? Are there no other members that check the boards and contribute? If so that sucks. Too bad. It was nice to have Kush give us some inside info and keep us in the loop. I know there is no representation on the 2k board, but I thought there would be at least 1 person to speak on behalf of the developer.

To be honest im starting to think KUSH was actually Ben Brinkman!!!! The way he just vanished after the game was released lol before that he was on here everyday hyping the game up...... But to be honest i really love the game when im logged out of my profile it plays solid i just hope the patch fixes online lag.

I totally agree. I love this game. Every pitch of every game keeps me on the edge of my seat. You used to be able to coast through a game if you got a lead and figured you won. But this year no lead is safe and I love it!

If not Brinkman, then an obvious plant. Perhaps a production assistant or intern at 2K.
