before patch my games where actually smoother what the heck happened!

Got to agree with Jorge. I wasn't seeing the lag a lot of people were talking about but since the patch I am. 2k let me down big time. Guess I have to wait another month for them to patch the patch so that means other issues won't be addressed.

And for ps3 owners, hope they don't patch your game. The patch appears to be broken so I blame both Microsoft and 2k for this screw up.

I m still having issues with the game just locking up post patch.
Prior to downloading the patch, I would not make it past 2 innings with the game freezing. Now, I can make it to 5 innings before the game freezes...any suggestions.

If it's only this game, I'd exchange the disk. Or see if it's smudged. My 2yr old grabbed the disk and left a big old messy thumb print on the disk and my game froze. Once I cleaned the disk, voila, everything was fine.

Agreed, a smudged disk will cause the 360 to choke and puke. A good cleaning will fix it up nicely

I still love this game, but I am frustrated that patch that was suppose to fix issues did for some it would appear but made issues for others. This is the second time 2k really let me down.

I'm hoping the second patch fixes all the issues and gets rid of lag once and for all. Some of the lag I'm seeing now i wasn't seeing pre-patch. Really, I wish they wouldn't release a BUSTED game in the first place. 2k8 should be holding a place of greatness. Instead it holds a place of great ideas, but waiting on improvement.

At least I do love the game, just wisht the patch did what it should have done.

Still No luck, game still hangs.

I cleared the cache on my hard drive and reinstalled the patch, I tried playing exhibition with no VIP loaded, I moved my profile and franchise to the MU, tried playing with different franchise team (Indians 1st, then I tried Marlins). I even exchanged games with a new copy.

This is the only game that is giving me problems, Is there a way to look at the patch version ?

Few things, is anyone else having issues with fielding? Ive played over 60 games now and Ive gotta say fielding is prob the worst pasrt of this game for me. Every game something stupid happens and most of the time it costs me runs. it seems sometimes ill be running for a grounder and the player wont encounter the ball its like there isnt a ball there. the most frustrating thing is when I have an easy flyball Im running to get it and the game does that little hiccup so i catch it in stride and it jacks up the play. the worst is when im going for a fly and the dude will act like a ball isnt coming to him and itll drop at my feet and roll to the wall.

another thing im noticing is some type of 2 outs cheat or something. seems like Ill be cruising, get 2 outs and like a specific chain of events happens. like an easy grounder to the 2nd baseman and for some reason he throws this stupid lollipop to 1st base and the runnerbeats it out. one time the runner going to 2nd base knocked my 2nd baseman over it didnt credit him with a tag out and the runner was safe at first cause my 2nd baseman was on the ground in the i just got knocked out animation.

after one of these things happens its almost like clockwork, next batter is going yard or rocking one in the gap. no matter what i do its just going to happen. even if i try and throw one out of the zone, if i get anywhere near the plate its going. its really disturbing when it happens. at first im like well its somewhat realistic as errors and things create alot of problems for tams but its like sometimes the game just creates runs like this. like randomly my throw meter will move so fast and i throw it in the red and the ball goes flying. sometimes the meter goes fast like on double plays which is a given but sometimes it just bugs out for no reason, an error happens, then a 2 run jack.

most if not all the time this happens with 2 outs in the inning.


am i crazy or are others having similar issues? like i said i have played like 65 games and im pretty sure something is going on during these games.

I'd have to agree with the two out "cheat." There is definitely something going on w/that. I notice it alot in the 1st inning - the two out HR

I didn't read through all the pages of this thread and a seach produced nothing, so has anyone else noticed if a third strike is dropped by the CPU catcher they don't ever attempt to throw to first since the patch. The batter always gets first base.

Nope,never had this problem.
I just played a game earlier (post patch) where the catcher dropped the 3rd strike,and my batter took off to 1st only to be gunned down.

I've never encountered this pre-patch either.

I saw it frequently before the patch. The only think I notice different is the balls and strikes are getting called much more realistic now.
