My very first inning in the 34th franchise game played ( 1st one after the patch )
Scott Kazmir is pitching against my Pirates. I was a big time swinger in the pre patch....perhaps alot of it was due to the fact that the framerate really cut down on the time I had to actually judge pitched balls and strikes....but there is definitely something else here at work after the patch. In the very 1st inning I actually drew 4 walks and walked in a run! Pre Patch, I was lucky to get 1 walk every few games...if I was patient.
My sliders are custom sliders and they were slid all the way to the left for CPU throws strikes when ahead and behind and in general. Prior to the patch, those sliders didnt seem to affect anything. Pitchers would still throw strikes on a 10-1 ratio if not higher. I just paused the game now and Im still only in the 1st inning, and Scott Kazmir has thrown 18 balls and 6 strikes!!
If that wasnt enough, I also noticed another HUGE observation. The umpire in this game has not called strikes on pitches that were touching the perimeter of the strike zone. He missed about 6 calls already on balls touching the zone....and to boot, 3 of them were 50% of the ball crossing the perimeter and in 1 pitch, 75% of the ball was inside the upper corner of the strike zone and he called it a ball! This is fantastic if its actually a result of some unadvertised patch work in addition to the framerate and Padres tweak!
Folks, this is too exciting to overlook...please fill me in on some of your observations as well. It just seems too coincidental....i've never seen balls called this close to the strike zone before the patch!
Let me know what you see!
Im hoping Steals and Hit and Runs are fixed too!
