Unlocking Stadiums/Jerseys

I posted this on 2ksports.com and thought I would do it here as well. Probably nothing more than me venting, but hoping that they will fix this stupid locked content at some point.

Is there a way to do this without having to jump through hoops like a circus animal?

100% of the time I spend with this game is in franchise so I'm only playing with one team. Needless to say, I don't have time to make Andrew Jones fart while rounding second base as one of loads of things that have to be done to unlock stadiums.

I did not even bother buying the stadiums in 2K7 because I could not use them in franchise mode, but was happy to hear that they were included and could be used in 2K8.

I can see having locked content in most games because you unlock the content while advancing through a career. With 2K8, I have to exit my career and play meaningless single games with different players to get to that content which I think is a flawed design concept.

I play the same way you do. Play all games in a franchise. Only play one team. Multiple seasons with no simulating. The card collecting seems like it could be a really fun way to get into the game but I agree it's probably of no benefit for guys that play strictly franchise.

As I get doubles and triples of the players on my team, I trade them in and when I finally get to 500 credits I will buy a new pack. It's very slow though. I am almost through my first 40 game franchise season and I on ly have about 290 credits. It will take me 2 seasons of franchise to have enough to even buy a new pack!!

I use the cheat and you can find the thread about that in search!

At this point I have every uni and all stadiums!

I play franchise only also this is why I did the cheat!

I play one team franchise also.

I was wondering what is the fastest way to get to 1000 credits to do the card glitch thing.

I've also been considering looking at my frnachise schedule and seeing what the uniform unlockable is for my next opponents and then considering whether to play a game with those teams to obtain the uniforms.

For example, my next two opponents are MIL and SF. I can get the MIL jersey if I shut them out, I can get the SF jersey if I bat around in an inning. So, I was thinking about using SF on rokie level against MIL(and trying to get both jerseys in one game (and pick up as many player cards as possible ... to sell for credits).

Is this a reasonably fast way to go about it?

How did you guys go about getting enough credits to use the glitch?

I still can't believe all of the hoops one must go through in order to get the unis and stadiums. Combined with the lack of number sliders and infrequency of patches, it's as if 2k8 hates its customers. I also don't understand why some challenges are to beat an MLB team w/ a miinor league team.

Why isn't there an "unlock all code"? Rhetorical question.

I have every uni and Stadium plus about 500 other cards not including duplicates!

This is what I did!

Sold as many cards as I could knowing I would get them back and bought 10 to 15 packs.

Now if you didn't know you do now that the glitch is not a 1 time deal, once you purchase and keep repeating the glitch after opening your packs you will get that many packs back each time!

So sell, buy, open, glitch and then glitch again, open 10 to 15 more and repeat.

This took me about 3 to 4 weeks!

I guess I was asking how you can earn cards the quickest and most painless way possible.

I was thinking of (if this is possible) making a team (editing a roster) of guys that have easy to achieve (HR) cards and put them on a minor league team and beating some of the teams that have that as their unlockable feat at the pro level with edited sliders waaaaaaay down. Maybe each game would earn enough player cards for 100-150 credits.

i tried the glitch but it didnt work i bought the pack then immediately clicked the middle button and went back to dash with out it saving but i didnt have the un opened pack anymore just the cards did i do something wrong?

You haver to open the pack 1st then do the cheat!

Well this WORKS.

I just played a game and earned 17 cards worth 420 credits, including numerous gold cards.

Load a team by editing the roster (preferrably with the guys that have easy achievables or big stars that are for RBI's), and plat the game on custom-p with the lowest possible settings.

Lotsa quick crds and quick credits.

Sorta makes me wonder about folks attaining a lot of big name cards. Certainly I'm not the only ADD guy to think of this.

do you have to be connected to xbox live for the card glitch to work?

If so, can someone make their profile available to download like chris nelson does with his rosters. Then people would play with profile, but they'd have the unis and stadiums. Would anyone be willing to do this?

i did open it but it didnt work i had the cards and no unopened pack

and triple thats called a game save and i dont think people would do that with their reg profile 1. b/c you can get their CC info and you can really mess with their account, plus it could be banned by XBL

I've been having my 7 yo son play the games with the "Super Team" and he's earning me ~15 cards a game which I can sell for 300-400 credits (a few plats/golds each game). Note: This would be an incredibly easy way to build a "stacked team" if one were so inclined ... or earn some desirable cards for trade.

However when I do the "glitch thing", only the unopened pack is there, not the cards I previously opened. When I open the pack, it's the same cards, and when I exit to dashboard and re-enter the game, it's just the same unopened pack w/o the cards I already opened.

Am I doing something wrong or do you need to be connected to XBOX live?

I only play offline franchise, but at this point I'm considering purchasing XBL just to use the glitch for unis/stadiums.

Does anyone know if if XBL is required to use the glitch?
