I really like this game!!

I traded it in on the day it came out, so I haven't played it since. I rented it for the heck of it and I have been having a lot of fun with it. To me it is a nice change of pace game from the show. I know it has problems, however I think there is also a lot to like. I love the fielding. It just seems more responsive than the show. I love the analog throwing. There are some really nice animations in the game. Love the amount of stadiums. You can't get to every ball in the gap. The Pitching is fun and very challenging. I am not sure about hit stick 2.0 yet though. It seems well done. However I think I still prefer 1 button hitting. Overall Its a solid game.

I know what all the issues are in this game so there is no need to post here and tell me about them. I guess I am able to put them aside and enjoy the game for what it is. A change of pace.

You can change the stick to one button hitting. I had to do this as I could never 'step' in time. Ever.

I do like the stick pitching, though. A lot.

I feel the same way, but then again every year it gets better for me. Baseball games have always been my favorite all the way back to Atari 2600 and each year I just can get enough of them . I have held back for the most part posting here lately because its all just negative. No worries I love the game and play it every day still. Every year I say this is the best and I always mean it. Just love video baseball.

I'll join the group on this one. I like it a lot. I'm getting my butt kicked most games (0-13) but I'm having a great time with it.

I'm a roster guy. I took the great work of Chris J Nelson V2 and have gone to town and created every level of the Toronto Blue Jays. I'm still tweaking a few things with the minor league pitchers pitches and the MLB players gloves, bats, etc. Might sound lame to some but making my team as accurate as possible gives me some satisfaction.

I can't recall who (and I apologize) put a bunch of mp3 snipits in for walkup music but again, I've put all the Jays players in there that I've got music for.

I don't play online (or at least I haven't) and I know that seems to be a huge point for many. I use the Swing Stick and Total Control pitching/fielding. You practice a bit, get the hang of it, and it's not a bad innovation. When I see the replay of my right stick pitching motion, I wish I could pitch better but I'm slowly learning what it does, when and how to make it do what you want.

I play against the AI on All Star and I've had some great games. My best probably being a 6-4 loss as the Astros against the Phillies (I had the 70's Astros unis and had to give them a try ) I think the hits were 9-7. Great stuff.

So what's not to like? I haven't even tweaked the sliders yet. I don't mind the game out of the box, although I believe I'll mess with the AI's ability to throw strikes so I can enjoy some longer at bats and not have every ball that glances the strike zone be called a strike. But that's my biggest complaint right there. Not too bad really and I can make an adjustment. OK, I also don't like the fact it switches to the Home Run camera, behind home plate, almost every time someone gets a hold of one. I'd rather see it going over the wall as I'm chasing it down. But that's it.

I'll start my franchise here in a few days and see how that goes.

Tons of customization. Pretty good fielding control. The hitting mechanic is providing sensible results. That's the core stuff and I don't think any of it is bad at all. Prior to the release the number one thing people said was that they wanted a title that played a good game of baseball. Well I think this does.

So sit back, grab a beer, and have some fun with this baseball game.

Count me in as someone who is really enjoying MLB 2K8.

I know the game has its problems. But for me, it's mainly presentation stuff. Between the lines, I think it plays a great game of hardball. It will certainly keep my interest for the upcoming season!

I just wish 2K would release their roster update so I can start my franchise!

BK, how is it going from 2K's controls back to the shows?

While I'm convinced that The Show is much better overall (though I have never played it), is it somewhat of a letdown going from 2K's controls to the old school button pressing? (assuming you enjoy 2K's controls).

I'm sure the gameplay itself more than makes up for it, but for me, the thing that keeps me coming back to 2K are the new controls...it definitely makes the problems much more tolerable.

I wonder if The Show plans to implement similar controls going forward...seems like a good idea.

Because the control schemes are so different, I think it's been pretty easy to go back and forth between games. The most difficult thing has just been getting the timing down when up to the plate.

Other than the crappy online, this game is the best playing baseball game ever and is a ton of fun. I play on All star without any slider tweaks and love it!

The more and more I play this game, the more I love it. I have a great set of sliders, and its just damn fun game of baseball. I have found myself playing this a little bit more over the last week then I do the Show.

I know it's rough around the edges, but it's funny, a lot of the stuff that I used to get so upset with this game for, I found myself allowing the Show to get away with unanswered.

So I just stopped critiquing it so hard, and allowed myself to just have fun again, and it's amazing how much this game really grows on you.

Im getting some great games, I face KC's 5th starter, I won 9-1 using Boston, I faced the White sox( Burhle ) and I was the Cubs ( Zambrano ) and I lost 6-5 in the last inning. Most of my runs are coming from standard in play hits and I am hitting my share of HR's....the best compliment i can give this game, is that If I lose....I feel like I should have lost, If I win, I feel like I deserved the win and earned it......thats how a baseball game should be.

I am also getting a great variety of hits at the plate, and striking out a fair amount on the mound. It will be interesting to see what the roster update/Title update will do towards gameplay( if any )

yes, the more i play it the more i like it.Except im getting to many throws to first after a strikeouts because ball is in the dirt.

Yeah, those are the little things/quirks that tend to bother some people. I have just decided not to worry about that stuff anymore, and just have some fun. I found myself worrying about all those things in this game and the Show, and finally, just said screw it, have some damn fun.

I agree with the post above me, yeah this game isn't perfect, but it plays a great game of baseball every game for me, I love it, and can't get enough of it, it is worth every penny I paid for it!
