Changing speed with a fastball or other pitches

Hello

I've attempted to search for this and not found any mention of it to date. I've also attempted to do this within the tutorial but have not been able to see a difference there either. Is there a way to change speeds with your pitches for example instead of always throwing your fastball at 95 mph throw it 85 or 93.

Basically, the speeds for fastballs are set within 3-4 mph. Let's say your P throws a 90 mph FB. He's then able to throw between 86-90 mph, and might reach 91 on occasion. The thing is, speed isn't always determined by how much you charge up the pitch when pushing the R stick to the first position. More often that not, charging up the pitch will produce a higher pitch speed, But it also happens that charging up the pitch will still result in a slower fastball. Shouldn't be that way, but it is.

Thanks for the quick reply. I understand most of what you were saying and agree by controlling the first part of the pitching motion you should be able to also control the speed of your pitch. With that said is there a way to control the speed of the pitches? For example over or under throwing the fastball to make it appear either faster or slower

Not that I discovered. Charging it up should always speed up the pitch, but it often doesn't. It's very random.

It starts with the 1st circle. The farther you let it expand, the faster the pitch is. The less you let it expand the slower the pitch

As I was explaining, it works that way, yes, but not always. You'll sometimes throw a slower pitch even though you've expanded the circle and put effort in it. It's quite random actually.
