What equipment do I need to connect to xbox live with my computer? I am a noob and never used xbox live before. I really want to get the patch however. Can someone please help me out. Thanks

You can run a ethernet cable straight from your modem into the back of the 360...or you can run it from your router if you are using one.

If you have a wireless signal, you need to pick up the MS wireless adaptor at a store, it runs anywhere from 69.99 to as high as 99.00

I wouldn't buy the 360 wireless adapter. It's a complete ripoff. At school I just hooked up the 360 to my laptop and used internet connection sharing. At home I use a Gen 1 Xbox wireless adapter. It works just as well, and you can find them for 40 bucks cheaper.
