A few questions not answered in the Manual.

Well I could tell from the lengthy instructions manual, I was gonna get lost with some of the things happening in 2k8. Hopefully you guys can help...

    1. When your pitching, and your pitches turn green, what does that mean? How about when they turn red?

    2. When you're pitching and it's the "payoff pitch" there is a target that appears on the screen. Sometimes it's on target with the catcher's mit, sometimes not. What is this?

    3. On breaking pitches like a curve or slider, should I aim for the location of the catcher's glove? or should I initiate the break and aim for the spot where it's suppose to break?

    1) Green means you successfully executed a "Payoff Pitch" and have earned a ratings increase for the pitch used. Red means you didn't execute the "Payoff Pitch" correctly, and incurred a ratings decrease for the pitch used.

    2) The red box is the target for the pitch. Hit it, and get a ratings increase.

    3) Depends on your settings. With "Break Point" pitching you should place the cursor where you want the ball to break from.

also, you may want to know that, during a payoff pitch, you can move your cursor and click "A" ("X" on PS3) to set where you want your payoff pitch location to be. If you land the pitch in that box (w/o it being hit), you will receive a ratings increase for that pitch. 0-2 counts are a great chance to throw some balls, but his the payoff pitch box and get your pitch ratings up.

The red means the CPU is going to slam a 500 feet home run on you(smile). I purchase this game on release day and just learned how to pitch two weeks ago. If you are playing on default, pay off pitches mean nothing if you not going to hit your point. So adjust you Total Control Pitching slider to 25 until you learn to pitch. I am up to 75 on the slider scale. The cpu will punish you until you get the pitching down.
