    Franchise Length?

What do you guys play your franchises on? I started a 162 game season but it just seems overwhelming trying to play it. Do you feel like you get the most out of a season if you just play 20 or 40 but the full playoffs?

    Re: Franchise Length?

I have the same problem. I can't seem to decide which ones to play. I want to keep the season length at 162 for realistic stats, but there are so many games I have no idea which ones to play. Which ones do you guys play?
I WOULD TRADE EVERY GAME I OWN JUST TO HAVE A PERFECT MADDEN.....

I play 1-2 games per series in a 162 game season. I ignore playing the minor league games, but pay close attention to stats and such.

The 162-game season isn't as daunting as you think. For realistic stats, it's the only way to go

I play with each starting pitcher and then rotate. I start with #1 and then sim until #5 and play that game. I sim again til the #4 spot comes up and play that game. Then #3, #2, #1, #5,#4... It allows me to play enough games in the season and get a feel for all the pitchers and not just use the ace. I can adjust and play more games if I have time and of course at the end of the season if I am in the playoff hunt!

There is nothing like completing an entire 162 game season and playing every pitch of every game. I have not done this since MVP 05 but hopefully I will have enough fun with this game to finish one (1-1 on the new chise so far lol). I did manage to finish an 82 game NBA season on NBA 2k8 this year and that was pretty magical. Towards the end of the year you make trades and feel for each player so much that it really affects the intensity of the games. The hard part about baseball is that it takes 120 games until you get into the thick of things, but the last month and playoffs are worth it in my opinion. Stick out your franchise, it will pay off.

I played 40 game seasons this time. I play every game, no simulating.

I used to play 162 games in prior years. I felt that the integrity of the statistical comparison to real baseball made it necessary. But 162 games is just too long for me now. I tried 40 game season with the hope of playing multiple years would keep things interesting. I am in season 2, half way through. I probably won't play a 3rd season.

I don't like simulating even a single inning or an at bat. It ruins the stats for me. I have to play every out of every game.

I hate to sim to me it is like cheating you earn the same for credit for win that you never play. I play 20 game seaaon and I love it. This is the biggest reason I play this game sometimes over the show.
