? About Difficulty Settings and Their Affects

I started a new franchise mode because I just had to turn trades off. It gets so annoying in July trying to un-screw all the crazy trades, and put players back where they belong. I figure I can be GM for all teams via roster control, and make fair trades for contenders who need an extra umph...

Anyways...Since starting over I'm leaning towards playing on default legend. My question is if you have injuries set at 100 on PRO and 100 on Legend is their any difference in the rate at which injuries occur.

Does the increase in difficulty increase the rate at which players get injured?

    Does anyone know?

To my knowledge, no. The 0/100 rating goes across the board and that's why it will say CUSTOM-L or CUSTOM-P. It's been my experience that the combination of adjustments will put you into a higher or lower bracket.

Higher/Lower bracket??? What do you mean...Please explain.

I wanted to see more oft-injured players in real life injured as frequently in my game so I went and started editing durability ratings for players like Mike Hampton, which btw had a higher durability rating than I thought he should've.

I took it ALL the way down to zero, and then simulated a few weeks...to only see him not land on the DL. I did the same thing for Jason Schimdt, Mark Mulder, Rich Harden and a lot of other oft-injured pitchers/batters. None of them landed on the DL.

What do you have to do to see a normal rate of injuries occur? I look at the disabled list for the league and there is about 8 players on it w/ over half the teams having not one single injured player. I've dropped a bunch of players durability ratings to 0, 5, 25, as I see fit, and still can't find them landing on the DL. This is w/ the injury slider set at 100.

Durability rating has nothing to do with injuries. It has all to do with how quickly their energy percent falls and replenishes with days off. I read this somewhere, but can't quite remember where. In essence, pitchers with a higher durability rating should be back at 100% or close to 100% by the time their spot in the rotation comes up, whereas lower durability ratings mean that your pitcher will be at 90-95% by the time they come up in the rotation. The same rule applies to position players with scheduled days off/off days in the game schedule; it's most noticeable with the catchers.

To my knowledge, there isn't a player value that you can change to make them more injury prone, or less injury prone.

Higher or Lower bracket meant a different difficulty. For example, start with All Star difficulty and move the Batters Skill and Contact all the way to 100, pretty soon you will notice it go from "CUSTOM-A" to "CUSTOM-P", which indicates that the changes you have made are set up more like the PRO difficulty than ALL STAR.

Setting Injuries to 100 would probably be the best thing to get more frequent injuries, but I don't think the computer will target certain players over others. For instance, Joe Blanton in real life is very durable and has never been on the DL, yet every year he always lands on the DL before anyone else with arm issues or a calf strain. Not very realistic to life, but it happens.
