How unfortunate this all is for us. But I can't imagine how Major League Baseball would allow for a disgusting game. Especially when a bunch of modders are doing a better job at updating MVP year in and year out. Talk about embarrassing.

On the other hand, is this Take2's poison pill for EA to swallow?!

I don't see how this is unfortunate... I say thank God for this. I know, I know, it probably WILL take a couple installments to turn this franchise around... but let's be honest here... it NEEDS it.

I find this to be rather disconcerning...

Once tweaked to my liking MLB 2K8 has become a very fun game. I enjoy it, and I would hate to something resembling 2K6 come back into the picture.

I really hope that VC can get a good title out there for us similar to the stature of the NBA 2K franchise. I have that one too, and it is the best b-ball title I've ever played.

The first World Series Baseball on the Dreamcast was developed in Japan by a studio now known as WOW! Entertainment. The game engine was later used in the vastly underrated Home Run Kings on GameCube; the only game to date to include players swings themselves. The stadiums were also gorgeous.

World Series 2K2 was developed "under" Visual Concepts, but not "by" Visual Concepts itself. It was handled by Blue Shift games, which also worked on World Series 2K3 and ESPN Baseball 2K4 (arguably the best in the series).

          Kush Games/2K LA handled MLB 2K5, 2K6, 2K7, and 2K8.

You messed up in the above statement...

I think you meant to say...

            Kush Games/2K LA MIS-handled MLB 2K5, 2K6, and 2K7.

Personally, this gets me pumped! The game needs a new home and I believe it is being fostered by the right one. I feel bad for the teams that had to seperate but this will be good in the end I feel. But what do we do about baseball next season? The game will likely not be much different from what it is now.....................

I am beginning to believe MLB 2K9 is being developed by Blue Castle Games.

I found this from Blue Castle's website and job listings...

Blue Castle has already developed and shipped The BIGS (published by 2K Sports in June 2007) on PS3, 360, PS2, PSP and Wii. We are well underway on three new projects - an unannounced Action title and two Sports titles.

We're not working on 2K9 (or 2K10, for that matter).
