    Manager Mode

After becoming completely disgusted with this game due to a few issues (freezing, lack of walks and meatballs being a few) I stopped playing this game over a month ago. Lately I've been throwing around trying to play manager mode instead of playing the games out. In the past I've enjoyed APBA baseball (a card and dice game similar to Strat-o-matic) so I thought it would be somewhat fun.

I've only played one game this way, so no complaints so far, but is there anyone out there that has played extensively this way? What are your thoughts? Are stats and records believable? Also are there any settings that need to be edited?

    Thanks for any input.

    Re: Manager Mode

I play manager mode for the first six innings of my games during my franchise, then I play it out from the seventh inning on. But, every last game of the series, I play the whole game. Anyway, My Oakland A's are 33-15 heading into this weeks match-up against the Toronto Blue Jays. Stats are not looking too bad at all, my best stat as a team is the ERA which is tenth in the league. My batting average is fifteenth in the majors, while stolen bases are one of the worst since we do not steal.

The only stat that is glaring to me which may not be a big deal for you is the lack of balls thrown when I enter the game in the seventh inning. For example, I had Dana Eveland throw eight balls while throwing sixty-two strikes. Also, I have not had one injury at all this whole year during manager mode and playing out the game, I might put the injury slider up a little to get a couple of boo boos. Hopefully you enjoy this game more now!

Thanks for the input - funny about the balls count though. I had Cole Hamels walk 2 guys in my opener, I wonder if those were the only balls he threw.
