Pitching Question
When do you guys know totake a pitcher out? Cuz it seems i always leave my pitchers in too long. I would like to have them last at least 7 full innings. But it seems i can never get them that far unless there pitching a gem. I always have a gut feeling when too take a guy out, but i always tell my self one more inning then thats when they get rocked... lol ALSo is there a way i can make them last longer, stamina wise?(w/o editing?)Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit TigersPittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay PackersDetroit Red WingsTags: None -
Re: Pitching Question
Theres a pitcher fatigue slider that you can adjust to either make the pitchers last longer or tire faster.
If you want to know how much stamina your pitcher has, press the LB button(360) to bring up the lineup card, select your starting pitchers name, go to player card, then use the right or left trigger to bring up different info on your pitcher. One info page tells you his age, weight, current stamina/energy level etc...
Or you can just press start, go to "sub pitcher", and his current stamina will be displayed.
If you have "Top Line Dropdowns" on, you can check your pitchers current stamina % without having to press start or bring up the lineup card.I think you just press left or right on the D-Pad to scroll threw the players info.(the top line dropdown is right below the score)Last edited by HK-47; 06-25-2008, 10:05 PM. -
Re: Pitching Question
It really depends on the situation...
If your pitcher is at or below 10% stamina, he can be injured easily.
The only time you should risk pitching with such low stamina is if your going for a no hitter...Maybe a shutout(a little too risky in franchise mode, especially if it's your ace)Comment

Re: Pitching Question
k, thanks... cuz i love to pitch, but not great at it... So when i have a pitcher whos dealin, i like to keep him in but then i get this feeling to take him out but dont cuz i want to lower his ERA then he gets whacked...lol guess i should only pitch my starters around 5-6 innings... and trust my guts feelingOakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit TigersPittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay PackersDetroit Red WingsComment

Re: Pitching Question
The pitchers stamina shouldn't be the deciding factor to whether or not you pull him for a reliever. If he's dealin' in a close game, leave him in, but if he gets into trouble you better take him out fast.
Late in the game, it's good to manage an inning ahead of time(6th inning or later).Like while your batting check out the opposing teams lineup to see who's coming up for them.If I see that three right handed batters are coming up, but the fourth is a tough left handed bat, I'll make sure to have my lefty specialist ready just in case one or more of the first 3 batters gets on base.Last edited by HK-47; 06-26-2008, 07:52 PM.Comment
