this is cuz you have your pitching set to the A button and not Total Control. so when the cut scene is going and you push A even once, then its going to pitch the second the cutscene is over, and usually a meatball. That was the #1 reason I went to total control pitching

That's not correct. I had it happen several times and I used total control pitching. Several other posters here and on the 2K boards also complained of this. I think it had to do with trying to speed through the cut scenes by hitting A continually and too quickly while inadvertently touching the R stick. Although someone else mentioned it happened to him even though his controller was on the table and he never touched it.

I play against my cousin and we do it probably 3 times throughout the game inadvertently. I try to just let it go but it shouldn't happen.

You said it had to do with "pitching set to the A button and not Total Control." That's incorrect. A number of people have complained about this issue while using Total Control pitching. I used Total Control, and it happened to me a number of times.

If you pitch with the right stick, how could pressing A affect it?

                Re: WHY?

The A button effects people using Total Control because apparently they push A so hard and fast between cutscenes (like I said their problem is) they accidentally hit the R stick throwing a meatball once the cutscene ends.
