    Swing Stick vs. Classic Hitting

I have played with "classic" hitting since getting MLB 2K8. I never thought I'd like Swing Stick.

I think I'm missing out. While playing with settings today, I decided to try the swing stick, and I saw a huge difference in hit variety, especially weak ground balls.

So, was it me -- or does the swing stick result in greater hit variety?

Can't tell you for sure. Personally. I'm a big fan of the swing stick (NOT 2.0), as its a little more realistic, in my opinion, in how a batter swings (sometimes for power, sometimes for contact, sometime directional). It seems 2.0 takes a little bit of that away. Not 100% sure, though.

I think there is more hit variety with swng stick, probably because that's what they tuned the hitting engine around (just guessing, not sure). I'm on the fence about it. Except for the delay or lag, I think I liked 2K7's better. it just needed tuning IMO. The concept is very good if tweaked properly

Re: Swing Stick vs. Classic Hitting

I actually havent used SWING STICK or SWING STICK 2.0 for over a full season in my league now because I found it a bit too easy or forgiving to make contact. Its almost as if the designers intentionally increased the contact zone with the SWING STICK feature to offset the extra difficulty of having to time your STEP.
Because when I switched back to the CLASSIC button swing, while I found it to be a more simpler process, I also found it less forgiving with making contact. And I find myself striking out alot more per game while using the CLASSIC batting. And I do enjoy this challenge

However, I may switch over to SWING STICK (original) just to get the feel of swinging again in a few games. I do prefer the SWING STICK setting over the 2.0 if I had to choose one because I feel you have more control of power versus contact.

I like the regular swing stick over the Swing stick 2.0...I don't like classic anymore though..I think the 1st swing stick is perfect right now.
