    1. Get rid of that stupid horn after a home run. Never hear it at most Ballparks.

    2. Completely redo the cyberfaces. Look so, so horrible.

    3. Complete the portraits. Booby Abreu is still wearing a Phillies hat, and this is his, what? third year in NY?

    4. Pitching needs to be built from the ground up. They can't get the right pitches for each pitcher.

    5. Batting animations are horrible. Needs to be rebuilt.

    6. Complete minor leagues or at least Baseball America's top 100.

I can go on and on. This is one of the worst Baseball games of all time. They need a major overhaul. Please EA, take them over already.

      3. NEW. FRIGGIN. ANNOUNCERS.

      4. a pitching system somewhere in between 2k8 and MVP 05.

      5. Same ball physics, but less homeruns. Less of a "highlight reel" game in general. Great catches, monster home runs, and unbelievable occurrences should be the exception, not the norm.
#4 and #5 I agree with big time. Not that I don't agree with the rest.

I think the pitching system is a little flawed in the sense that if I am naturally better pitching a cutter moving the stick up and to the right then I will be better pitching with lefties. If I suck at throwing the curve with a righty but dominate lefty then that's not fair either. I think they should have one determined set. So if you are a "left-handed" player and you feel more comfortable pitching with the right stick motions of a left handed pitcher then you should be able to always pitch like this and it would correlate to right handers as well.

I also think there should be less HR's human and cpu. It seems like the mistake pitches might play a direct role on this. Seems like every mistake pitch I throw if it's not swung on and missed is hit very hard most of the time for HR's by the CPU. It even seems like physics are out of the equation when I throw a really bad mistake pitch. Batted ball physics that is. I have seen the CPU hit HR's dead opposite field on inside pitches that should of jammed then but because I the human made such an error and such a bad pitch (mistake pitch) the CPU was rewarded with extra power for that particular hit. That ain't how it works in real life so it shouldn't be how it works in the game as well.

I would like to add that I really hope they take away the HR celebration cam or at least make it an option. It takes the fun out of hitting a HR when you just watch it right off the bat and KNOW it's gone. Some guys like that and some don't....so just make it an option or a slider for how frequently it happens (I would personally set that to no doubter's only).

I also think they should add some kind of system like MVP had where you can better pick up what type of pitch it is. I think it's very hard to tell the difference between a high fastball and a curveball. I think there should be a slight way that you can tell what type of pitch it is but you have to be good. You can't just abuse this and always have perfect timing. Maybe try to get down the spin of each pitch and really utilitze the high def capabilities so the ball really is in high def and is easier to track.

Also this is far out there but my dream would be to have them come out with a controller that has a small bat for an analog stick. I know you are going to think I'm nuts but I think this could really be fun and realistic. The analog stick is shaped like a bat and has a longer radius distance then the regular sticks. This would make it easier to check swing and also put different swings on the ball. What I mean by this is you would really have to wait more on offspeed and hold the bat back instead of starting the swing and slowing it down to make contact (when you get fooled). Good change ups and breaking balls will do this and you will put a "bad" swing on the ball so if you do make contact you won't be hitting it hard. There's more to all of this but I'm not sure if you guys would go along with it so I'm going to leave it at that.

I've got to disagree with people asking for yet another pitching mechanic. The problem with 2K baseball the last few years is they insist on changing the pitching mechanics every year, but fail to address things that flat out don't work. Tune the options you have, upgrade the graphics to at least the 2K7 standard, eliminate the "meatball" and it's other gimmicky relatives that lead to sloppy and unrealistic results, fix the numorous franchise bugs and glitches and you have an extremely promising baseball game. There is a good baseball game underneath all the crap in 2K8 (apologies to those who feel it's good as is...this is all my opinion, of course).

Re: a list of 5 things that would improve this game

              1. Hitting. Plain and simple. Not saying it's bad, but if the engine used in NCAA MVP 05/06 was used, this would be amazing.

              2. Pitching realism. The system they have in now is awesome. That is not my problem. My problem is the curveballs that are thrown high for strikes and are just as efficient. In 2K8 you can throw a sinker efficiently high and away. That is not realistic. The strike zone should barely be above the belt anyway. Mistake pitches shouldn't be shown to the hitter before the pitch arrives. Mistakes should be pitches that weren't executed well, so that it is hung in the upper half of the strike zone and is very non-effective. That is realistic.

              3. Playoff atmosphere. I know the playoffs is a very small percentage of the overal games played, but it is very important. The crowd should be louder. Just the overal atmosphere should be noticeably different.

              4. Homerun ball physics. The homeruns were all pop ups, it seemed. There needs to be line drive homeruns and all sorts of differen't physics for the HR. Also, you should be able to tell if you hit a homerun. The sound should be different and the trajectory and the speed of the ball should be different then a pop fly.

              5. Tie up as many loose ends as possible. Glitches, bugs, other areas of weakness.

                PLEASE...PLEASE

I have a 360 becasue i like some of their stuff better then the ps3 but Road to the show kicked this games but... i was so tempted to buy a ps3 just for road to the show. The reason is because of the road to the show part of the game.... everyone is going that route.... EA has be a pro mode. Im a HUGE fan of this mode and 2k is all i have for baseball and it was pathedic. It kept me busy but i want more from a game then this. I loved the pitching and hitting that was awesome it was more fun pitching this year but include the single player mode. start in high school champion ship game.... make us go through try out camps get noticed by scouts wait for a phone call..... send us to single a..... make it take 2 or more years to make it to trhe majors.... very few players actually jump there very quick.

IDK about that. I mean, that would be saying to their fans and buyers that they think the past is a failure. 2k needs to build on what they have done right and fix the things they've done wrong. Let's do it.

I love this game. I think the developers should just keep fine tuning what they have. I think the pitching, fielding and batting controls are great. They make this game much more fun than The Show and PYS5 (I have them both). Just keep fine tuning everything. Animations, stadiums, AI, sliders. I'm really looking forward to next season's 2K8.

                            Just one thing for me...

put in an expansion mode similar to what All Star Baseball did. That was the best mode ever and being able to see how long it took you to turn around a scrub team was an awesome challenge.

If they can't do that then give us the next best thing...a create a team feature where the team can be used in franchise mode.

It's been 4 years since we've seen a create a team feature in a baseball console game. Basketball, Hockey, and Football all have it. Come on guys...let's get it into baseball too!

Re: a list of 5 things that would improve this game

                              1. Make pitching harder! It is just way to easy because even when you move the pitching slider the circle is harder to hit but eventually after about five innings you get the hang of it.

                              2. Fix the bugs. I am so sick of the game slowing down after a throw out to first. Many times there is a ground ball hit to any of the infielders and I throw to first and all of a sudden the game will just stop for like two seconds and will play on. It is very irritating.

                              3. Road to the show or some effect to that. Don't make an exact replica to The Show but make it unique.

Owner mode! Make signing FA and doing all the things an Owner or GM would do fun. Make it realistic and hard to sign that big FA. I almost think it should be a little recruiting game with FA. You should have to try and sell the FA to buy into your organization. Then try to come to terms with them on the money aspect.
Also have build your stadium and relocation. The Twins have their new stadium in 2010 so it would be cool if I could actually build a new stadium for the Twins and be able to play in it in year two of owner mode. This should be kind of like Maddens except Madden has just relocation. Money should also play a part in building the new stadium. Once the new stadium comes your going to get much more fan base therfore you make more money!

                              4. Live rosters or rosters once per week! If The Show can do it so can you 2k. It can't possibly be that hard. Plus it will save you time in the long run because you aren't constantly trying to keep the rosters up to date every other month. Not to mention the fact the rosters blow anyway everytime 2k releases their rosters.

                              5. Presentation! I want to see an ingame pregame show. Not just Jeanie and whats his face talking before the game and saying the same exact things. Then a postgame show/interview. Since 2k has the mlb license why can't they use it to their advantage. 2k should try and get TBS to sign a deal with them and use a TBS style presentation. It may be difficult but then again they did have ESPN for several years.

                              6. Atmosphere! The fans are horrid in this game. When I make a big play in the field or hit a huge homerun I want them to pump me up and make me excited. Opening week of the season there should be tons of fans for every team. Once the second and third weeks come around though there shouldn't be as many fans for the small market teams or the teams who aren't playing well. Records and markets need to come into play with the fans attending games or not attending games. Even if the Yankees are having a poor season they are still going to turn out huge crowds. While if the Marlins are having a poor season they will have very few fans.
The playoffs need to be the playoffs! I want to see the breath of the players in Boston on a chilly night. I want to see the long sleeves broken out and the fans in jackets and stocking hats. Make it feel like the playoffs. The fans need to get out of their seats on two strike pitches and when pitchers get out of jams. And they definitely need to get their butts out of their seats when a team gets a game winning hit in the 9th to send them to the ALCS or World Series.

                              7. Lastly make every team play like they do in real life. I should see the difference between the Red Sox and the Twins. The Sox hit doubles, homeruns etc. While the Twins manufacture runs with the bunt, steals and then they get that little looping fly ball that drops in the outfield. Obviously they get their fair share of singles, doubles, and triples but they shouldn't be cranking out homeruns left and right. Teams need to play to the strategy they use in real life.
I'm also sick of the ratings! The Twins suck every damn year in the game even if they were to make the playoffs the year before or for instance this year falling a game short. There should be ratings on how teams play as a team and the style of play. The Twins execute runs better than anyone in the MLB without having to hit HR's. Why should they have bad ratings and play poorly in the game when in real life they aren't a bad baseball team.

I know I went on a little rant about the ratings of the Twins but that same thing can be said for other teams in the game besides the Twins.
