    A few wsb 2k3 questions

I have a pS 2 and I bought MVP, while I love the atmosphere of the game Its missing a few things that I wanna see if they are present in wsb2k3 so heres my questions...

1.is there a draft mode for franchise?(complete draft)
2.Can you hit HR's with most of your starters...not 0 after 90 games with a guy who averages 25 a year in real life....
3.Does the CPU leave pitchers in longer than 5 innings?
4.How is the atmosphere in wsb2k3(crowd,commentary..stadium stuff etc...)?
5.should i bother with the PS2 version or just splurge and buy an Xbox and get it for that (ive wanted one for awhile anyways)?

    Thanks, sorry so many questions!

Re: A few wsb 2k3 questions

    1- I don't know. I've been playing a season
2-I think so. I've gotten at least one hr with my cubs starting position players, and it is about the end of april.
3-I think so, unless the cpu is pitching bad. However, if he's given up two or three runs through five they usually leave him in. While on the subject the cpu makes beautiful subs, such as pRunners and they put in the right bullpen people.
4-I believe the commentary is average.
I loves the crowd noises, especially the hecklers. A couple of the stadiums do things (train in enron). However, during my season i've been in wrigey most of the time.
5- I would buy a xbox. It looks like the future for sega sports on the ps2 might be a dim one with wsb getting cancelled and all.

        1. There is a complete draft IF you're doing a fantasy draft, meaning every Major League player starts as a free agent & you just draft through em all. There's not complete drafts before every season, though. Just five rounds.

        2. I play on the Pro difficultly level, which is only the third highest of the five levels, so keep that in mind. It's not a problem to hit homeruns with guys who should be able to hit homeruns on that level.

        3. The computer does leave pitchers in longer than five innings if they're doing well. Obviously, if they're gettin roughed up, they get yanked. The AI decisions on this have been pretty good, in my experience. They don't usually pull guys too soon, or leave em in too long.

        4. The atmosphere.... I'll say it's a videogame atmosphere. I think the crack of the bat sounds nice, the crowd sounds good when they cheer or boo, but (just like in any videogame) the cheers & boos just cut off too soon. There are certain situations where the crowd should be cheering loudly for a prolonged period of time, not just for three seconds & back to silence.

The stadiums are pretty beautiful. In The Great American Ballpark(?), you can see cars driving on the freeway in left-center field. I thought that was a pretty cool touch. You can see the gorgeous moon in the sky during night games. The fountains & waterfalls in Kauffman Stadium actually look like fountains & waterfalls. I've played a lot of exhibition games just to look around at the stadiums. They did a pretty good job.

As for commentary, doesn't that always get boring & ********? I think so.

        5. Get an XBOX. Since you want one anyway, why not? If you ask me, anyone who's into sports games should get an XBOX. The built in 8gig hard drive means you can pretty much save as many seasons/rosters/franchises/whatever as you want without buying a single memory card.
