So, are WSB's fielding animations top notch?

Last year the infield fielding animations were fluid and looked very nice. Do they have any new animations for the infielders this year? Also what kind of catches do some of the better outfielders make? Any sweet catches( shoestring, backhanded,...)?

I don't get as animated about graphics as others so I'm sure you'll get a better reply but they are very, very nice. The new double play animations are incredible. Some little things when you aren't in perfect position to get the ball are also nice. You'll see a fielder do a little spin to throw it in b/c of his momentum like in real life, some nice reaches for catches. Seems like they added a lot and all are pretty realistic. I've seen a couple of nice ones from the pitcher fielding balls too.

Best and most complete animations i've seen in a sports game. It comes closest to actually looking like the sport it is portraying.

I agree. I own ASB and rented WSB this week. The graphics and animations are just sick. Sega sets the standard this year again. Simply awesome.

The infield animations are the one thing I don't like. First, don't get me wrong they are mo-capped to perfection and the DP's are the best ever in a sports game. My beef is the same thing that was said in Game Informer, the animations are a little too over-the-top. Every play down the left side of the infield looks like it's handled by Ozzie Smith. WAAAAY too many scoops, off-balance throws and spectacular plays. They look great the first couple of times you see em' but they start too look out of place after seeing them over and over again. Makes the infield play seem arcadish.

I'ts like playing a basketball game and seeing every player do the same 360-reverse-tomahawk dunks 40 times a game.
