Will there be an option to use MLB 2k8's pitching system in 2k9?

So I heard they are simplifying the pitching controls this year and just wondered, why? I absolutely love the pitching in 2k8 and have mastered it. Taking out the entire timing portion of the system makes me mad, and I think there should at least be an option to stick with complex pitching controls. I've pitched a few 1 hitters, my share of shutouts, and boast a 1.7ish ERA with Haren in my franchise, and it is much more rewarding with a pitching system that many people complain about. So PLEASE 2k, let those of us who like a challenge have an option to NOT simplify the controls to "2-step pitching".

    Thank you

Yes- you will be able to use 2k8's pitching as an option.

I also kinda liked 2K8's pitching system/interface, if only there were no meatballs. One change I'd really like to see and maybe someone could tell me if it's been mentioned/asked already -- will we be able to turn off the pitching cursor?

Couldn't last year and it really bugged me, as doing this adds an extra layer of difficulty to pitching. I used to do it in the HH series years ago and guess what -- I'd actually walk people. Cursor on with no vibration is OK, but I'd prefer pure feel with the analog stick as an option; ie, no cursor, no vibration. Just sweaty palms because I may not be right on the corner making a perfect pitch when I'm facing Big Papi in the bottom of the 9th with the game on line...

everyone is worried that the new controls are dumbed down. First of all they already said 2k8's controls are in the game.

Second of all, they way they described the new controls I don't think its simply step 1 and 2 of 2k8. Its based off 2k8 with 1 step removed and then refined, i still feel like theres gonna be a good amount of challenge.

Well that's encouraging, thanks. And yeah, having the option to turn off the cursor would be great. I walk like 1 batter every 20 games in franchise

Well the recent review mentioned how they "removed some of the clutter" from the screen overlays, so hopefully these are the types of things they mean.

I'm the same way. Once I've grasped the mechanic I don't want the indications on screen. I feel more "immersed" if there is nothing to indicate what's going on, other than the game's "natural" audio/visuals

I normally start with most overlays on then lose um when im comfortable .
Im not much for all that stick hitting and pitching unless its done well like Ea NHL
I wonder how it will be online as I heard it was a nightmare 27-20 slugfest ?
