    Names On Jerseys

It looks like all the names on the jerseys will look the same. That was one thing I liked about 2K8. On 2K8, they had the correct fonts for each team. It looks like this year each team will plain block letters.

How can you say this? We've only seen from what i know is like three things showing the back of the uniforms. Two in screens and Lincecum's and Reyes' in the video.

I think there should be a slight arc on the players' names.

Other than that, there's no way that we can base the entire game's jersey lettering on the few teams we've seen. Way too many people are jumping to conclusions around here.

Here is another one. Besides this, the game looks good.

THIS HAS RUINED THE GAME FOR ME

2K sports...the only place where such things as errors can be "over looked" while making a baseball game.

            Much ado about nothing.

I remember early The Show screens a couple years back with player names on the back of Yankees jerseys.

I'm going to assume that this just hasn't been fully completed yet.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

To be fair, I don't think the guy has been screaming "Game Killer" from the rooftops or anything...he just pointed it out. We'll see how it turns out

Thank you. It is just a minor detail I would like.

                  Re: Names On Jerseys

It is minor, sure... and I'm not calling out 2K on this, but I have seen time and time again where a company is either starting off on a new game or maybe starting on a next-gen game, and they never seem to get fonts and sizes right. Either things are too large, too small, or they are like this. I was just wondering what it is that they really have to do to fix something like this? Like Kolbe says, "If it's that easy to fix, we would fix it." Sounds reasonable enough.

I wish it was as simple as a Photoshop layer edit, but part of me feels that there is just so much more to it.

If you want my personal opinion on the issue however, the problem isn't whether or not it's wrong, but it's whether the wrong thing sticks out. As a baseball player and observer, it's obviously wrong; and as someone who uses the behind-the-pitcher cam, it will be obvious. Is it a game-killer? Crap no. Would it be something that I would love to see addressed for next year (if not already being fixed for this year)? Absolutely.

To me, a minor missing detail is often major, because if you ever read this thread, then you would see (on post #9) that authenticity is the biggest key for me. That essentially means that while playing, I want a true representation of both the sport and the MLB. Sometimes gameplay will unfortunately have to take second-fiddle when there is something missing in the game's atmosphere, and I go crazy over it.

This may not be a problem for me, but to say that I can just ignore it is impossible. Thank goodness, if I get this game, that I will probably be the Giants and will only have to see it on road games.

Really Only the mets have different font style, and from the trailer it looks like they have the mets font in there too. I dont notice much of a difference you maybe an outline is out of wack. The fonts seem on though

No no, the font is about right. It's just the lack of an arc that's distracting.

Neither game can seem to get the numbers high enough on the yankees home jerseys.

Guess it depends on how we look at this.

                              The Gordon picture shown above:

A Replica Gordon Jersey being sold (which I'll assume Mr. Dressup is wearing)

And the real thing being worn by Alex Gordon:

Looks like the arc really isn't as prominent as in other uniforms. So, how can we argue this?
