Will the ability to check your swing (on command) return for the first time since god knows when?

It was in there last year, but it was random as you had no control over whether or not you actually checked it or not.

Believe it or not, but you could also check your swing in 2K7.

Not with the classic controls...it was one of that games many little errors.

But yes, you could in the default swing stick in 2K7...and you could in both schemes in 2K8.

Yeah, but you basically had to plan to try to check your swing, which completely defeats the purpose. I really hope check-swinging is done like it is in MVP NCAA 2006.

i still play 2k7 (ps3) sometimes. i use classic controls and i'm able to check swing anytime i want by double tapping the swing button.

It was in there last year, but it was random as you had no control over whether or not you actually checked it or not.

Easily fixed, just go into options:

Incorrect appeal decisions by 1B/3B umps:
ON/OFF

Random checked swings:
ON/OFF

Sorry, I meant to mention it was on the 360...wasn't aware it was not an issue on the PS3. Thanks for clarifying

To my knowledge, it never worked on the 360 though, even after the game was done being patched.

In any case, I don't suppose it will be an issue for 09.

I used it on classic button 2k7 but I heard it was impossible to use with swing stick 2k8 for what its worth

To clarify: you can check swing if you want in 2k8, by pulling back on the right stick once you've started your motion forward, but before the stick crosses the center position. I don't think this year will be that much difference.
