I saw Jason Bay hit a pitch an inch off the plate into the left field bleachers last year. If a hitter is strong enough, they can pull an outside pitch. And Longoria is one strong player.Comment

I like everything I've seen so far (I'm not going to overreact a bit like a lot of you are doing about the faces- I think they look perfectly fine), but from the looks of the Longoria swing it would appear VC did not have time to add signature swings to the game because Longoria almost always swings with two hands on the follow-through not just one if I'm not mistaken.Comment

Thorne only does quality work hope Phillips sounds the same as I am am one of the few who likes um.
Plastic is a good word , Hope Catchers look better not generic in the final and that we can adjust the bat sound.
I like the Pitching motion but I didnt care for the players, hope there not washed out again and Eva's calf leg looked huge and the helmets look to boxy IMO.
But all in all anything will be an improvement from 2k8Comment

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Teaser Trailer #2
This is going to sound like a complaint, but I'm actually surprised this is not in the game.
I kept looking at Josh Beckett standing on the mound and it hit me what doesn't make him as believable as I'd like him to be. He's not breathing. Seriously. The guy is shaking off the catcher and the rest of his body is stiff. It makes him seem flat.
Why isn't this in video games today?"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

So far, I'm pretty impressed. It's hard to tell after a trailer, but it looks like 2K baseball is getting back on the right track.
I'm rooting for the 360 guys this year. People shouldn't have to consider buying another system to enjoy 1 game of a certain genre.Comment

While the movement of the outfield fans seems cool it DID NOT feel like Longoria hit a 2 run jack in the ALCS. The crowd was awfully quiet.RIP #21

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Teaser Trailer #2
The jerseys, the players, and the graphics overall aren't impressive. Not up to par with 2K7. And certainly not up to par with the first few screenshots that were released (wink-wink). It seems to me they toned down the graphics to at least try and get the game running smoother. Which is good news, as long as we get a game that runs smoothly and not the disaster we got last year.
The atmosphere sounded great at first, until Longoria hit a 2-Run HR and they hardly reacted. The bat sounds are great, but then again this is a trailer and not gameplay. We saw this last year when they added in bat sounds to their trailers that had everybody salivating.
I've always loved Gary Thorne, he's the best part of this trailer. I hope he sounds like this in-game and this wasn't just recorded for the trailer.
I keep telling myself I will take a wait-and-see approach with this game, since I was burned so badly by 2K8. But who am I kidding? I have purchased multiple baseball games every year for the last decade or so. I certainly won't play this game more than that other baseball game, but hey, if I can get 500+ achievement points out of it, I will consider it a success.Comment
