    MLB 2K9 Demo: Next Week?

    I'm connecting a few dots tonight.

    Ron in the 2K forums has said that gameplay videos will be a sign a demo is near. GameSpot releases its videos this Friday, which we know. Ron is also scheduling a chat with developers scheduled for Friday. But check out a post of his from earlier today:

      hmm...assuming you're indeed reading this right, then I would say next week is possible. Approvals vary based on priority, content, platform, etc, etc.

      They generally take a couple weeks, I believe.
      So depending on how long they've been in approvals we could feasibly see it next week, sure. I would think the following week would be more likely (that would be a week before release), but I certainly won't complain if we get it sooner

          haha, i was talking to Ronnie about that post earlier on aim, and we were shocked no one really picked up on that.

              We'll see how confident 2k is in their product. 2k8 seemed like it was sitting in approval forever last year And finally came out after release, haha.

              Lets not jump the gun yet..Though Im anticipating as much as you guys.

                          Tell them to not release it until the game ships...hahaha.

                          Now in no way am I saying thats whats going on this year...but last year it was so easy to spot.

                          Truth be told, Im getting a WSB II vibe from this game. Thats a good thing, kids.

                              Sounds good but after last year its hard to forget that 2 days after the release the demo dropped.

                                      I bet that's their plan. Now the only question is whether Microsoft and Sony will approve of the demo this time around.

                                          I do have a couple concerns about the forth-coming demo.

                                          Demo code is usually from a version of the game that is a few weeks to a month old. You know, before everything has been "optimized." Since optimization is the last step in the process, the demo could have some "hitches" while the retail version is smooth as silk.

                                          God help the mods in this board if that happens. Given what happened last year, Visual Concepts desperately needs to release a solid demo in order to drum up some sales.

                                                  Funny thing is, last years demo worked and played a lot better than the final released version. And even the "Batter's Eye" worked properly. Later

                                                      That demo has got to be coming sooner rather than later. Go onto live and check out the demo info for MLB 2k7. It says 2K7, but screenshots, box shot, even a preview video is all 2K9.
