Re: GCHD User Requested Gameplay Videos Here
Never had a problem with you. I was joking, but it is cool. You are a good guy. I want to see Timmy. How come we have not seen any videos of the baddest pitcher in the Majors.Plus he is the coverboy!
The Stadiums look really nice. And you can edit the accessories, I wish it had the World Series Classic, but oh well.

Re: GCHD User Requested Gameplay Videos Here
So I am totally digging the Practice Mode. How cool will that be to tweak the sliders with regards to the Outfield Speed, Baserunner Speed, etc... and be able to try them out during the practice mode to get a feel of how the changes affect the play, without having to load up an entire game?
I am looking forward to being able to take some ground balls before the game at least in this mode. I always felt for that "touch of realism" that you should be able to choose a warmup mode when you take to your defensive half on the inning. Do you throw the allotted amount of warmup pitches before the batter steps in, or do you take ground balls around the infield and toss them to the first baseman?
Love the Practice Mode addition either way.

Re: GCHD User Requested Gameplay Videos Here
If 2K is willing to gloss over the easy fixes what makes you think they will get other things right. The first day this is available on the PC people will start trying to mod this thing and the first thing they will try to fix is the portraits.
Some portrait sets at MVPMods.com have over 3,000 downloads. people care about the little things and it blows my mind that 2K would ignore the starting third baseman of the Dodgers.Comment

Too me it looks like an arcade game. Big yellow lights and circles and arrows and buzzers and sh** like that.
The game will be cool if you can turn all that garbage off.Comment

Re: GCHD User Requested Gameplay Videos Here
From what I've seen the stadiums look like they could use some work. They are washed out. From what I could see in the videos GABP looked good structurally. The add placement was wonky, but the textures are horrible. If we can edit them on the PC, it will be the first thing I attempt to fix.
I know that there is a pretty detailed list of inaccuarcies at Fenway floating around. Some pretty major ones. 2K chose to use a 2005 build of the park, they are missing a seating section, left in the Coke bottles which were removed years ago, failed to add any advertisements to the monster, etc.Comment

Love Practice Mode.. as syf posted a great way to tweak sliders & edit rosters & see how they look before loading them.
Also we may have an idea in reference to lighting. It looks static in the video, so the possibility of progression is still there.Comment

Re: GCHD User Requested Gameplay Videos Here
Here's a few impressions:
1. I think (well hope...but with a bit more realism implied) that framerate will not be an issue this year (at least on 360).
2. Transition animations look MUCH improved (though I agree with BFJ about some of the horrid old animations...to include the same herky-jerky running and slooow pitch speeds IMO).
3. I think the presentation will be the selling point for this game overall. The commentary sounds great thus far, and most of the camera angles are very well used.
4. I said the hit variety seemed good for the small sample after the OS vids. I may have to rethink that. I have yet to see anything new over the last couple years in that category. This would be a concern for me. Plus, they still have that same HR marker crap, I noticed. Ehh.
5. Apparently they REALLY like pinstripes. So much so, that they doubled them on the Yankees uniform. It's a minor gripe, sure, but when C.C looks like he's wearing plain white pants at home, it's a tad distracting (especially for someone who will see them 20+ times in a season).
Here's my thing. It looks like the improved performance issues, presentation, and some (but not all) graphical quirks. However, I don't see anything new or enticing about the gameplay.
It looks exactly the same to me. I'm sure some will like that just fine, but the gameplay (aside from the controls, which were a plus for the series) has been the letdown for me.
If everything is up to snuff performance wise, I will still consider this as a potential PC purchase (assuming the 19.99 pricepoint is correct). I just can't see myself spending $60+ on this game, based on what I've seen. I will, of course, rent it to be sure...but that's where I stand at the moment.Comment

If it looks static why would it give you hope there was progression? Just asking, I would think you would feel the opposite.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: GCHD User Requested Gameplay Videos Here
Just watched the practice video...
Honestly, I am really finding nothing off or bad with any of these videos. I feel like I'm coming off as sort of a fanboy (I'm not) but I really love everything I've seen so far. I guess the things that bug some of you guys so much (portraits, logos on hats, stick hitting, bat sounds, etc) I really could care less about. That's not to say they aren't valid complaints, they are. They just don't bother me much. The only thing i don't like is the running animations, but it's not a game killer for me.
I love the way Derek Lee looked in the box. I love the way the ball came off his bat, and the shadowing on his body looked great. The dribblers, the homer (with collision detection in the empty seats!), the texas leaguers, all looked great. There was even a hit that the grass slowed down, which I thought was a massive improvement from last year and the year before.
The flashes and pops on the on screen special fx are a little lame. But whatever, again doesn't really bug me much. All in all, today has been a good day!2006 - present, NY Mets Season Ticket HolderComment
