Only one DP animation

I've seen all the videos and all the double plays are the same. The shortstop basically pivots and makes a sidearm throw. Now this is a step backwards from last year where the shortstop would make all sorts of footwork and even jump throws over the runner. This would really suck if we're stuck with the same Double Play animation that isn't even all that great

Not really. I've seen at least 4 Double plays now and they were all relatively different situations, (hurried, having time, triple play). They were all the same.

Yea i made a comment about that as well in one of the video threads, was just a observation, i guess they only could include so much in a beta. I guess we will have to see when the real games comes out.

Ya, here's hoping a 2k dev sees this thread, quickly copies some 2k8 coding and puts it into this years game. i can stop dreaming now.

True. Especially since they stated in the Dev Q&A that all animations were not in the Beta that was released.

I went back and read the recap. The developers also answered a question about players "snapping" into their batting stances. They said that between the Beta and the Final, the transition was smoothed out.

So, much like The Show, the Beta is an unfinished version and missing animation and final optimization.

understand when i say this i am not trying to be or sound like an *** but that is the reason they call it a beta version, and not the finished version

Another Video released, And another Double Play with the exact SAME animation. Now I'm really getting worried. That's 5 for 5 DP's with the same routine. Now if it was a solid DP, I wouldn't mind too much but the second baseman sidearms it with no body motion, It's Horrible. A huge step backwards for 2k
