    Stadium Additions

I was curious about few things this morning. After watching some of the video's are there going to be K signs posted on the walls for pitchers and other addtions like vender chatter like last few years. Also I heard a while back we were going to get people shouting out various things to the players on the field to make the stadium come to life.

I'm excited for this years game, I want to play some babseball 3/3/09 can not come soon enough.

    Re: Stadium Additions

There have been crowd heckles since 2K3 at the very latest (not custom, like The Show is implementing this year) and most of them are hilarious! Damon had, "Cut your hair, you hippie!" Huff had, "What kind of name is AUBREY?!" Tejada had, "Tejada? More like... Te-NADA!" Just funny stuff.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was vendor chatter, and the 2K games seem to handle surround sound a bit better when on the field, especially with umpires and the like. I don't know about K-signs, and they would probably be very hard especially when having to be implemented in real-time (or I suppose it could appear out of thin air, which would look really weird as well). Other games, even dating back to All Star Baseball, normally didn't have a problem with this because it could just be loaded into the next at bat and such, but with 2K I can imagine things being a little harder to realistically come by, but when they do it will just look that much more glorious. If they can amp up the stadium atmosphere by next year, it will be hard to make decisions for which game to give your $60 to next year.

I have a feeling the beta that everybody got is actually rather old. I know that there are things like framerate hitches which is enough of an indication because of the promises that they will be addressed by release, but for something like progressive lighting to still be omitted really means something about how old it must be. They also mentioned that the crowd would be leaving their seats, and I don't think they just meant to rise and cheer, but rather to walk up and down the steps and what not... this is also not shown in the beta. Something tells me that the retail version will have a little more up its sleeve than what we get from these early videos and a possible pre-release demo, but only time [and impressions] will tell.
