No WBC in 2K9

You know, I'm more pissed off than I thought I'd be at there not being a WBC in 2K9 (there was one in 2K6).

It wouldn't take much - it's just an elimination tourney -- all you'd need are 16 uniforms, 3 more stadiums, and some rosters that would include already-included MLB players.

C'mon, VC. Make some WBC DLC. I want to see if I can win with The Netherlands or South Africa. hee hee

It's FAR MORE interesting than the Home Run Derby (big yawn)

No offense, but I honestly don't get why people are creating these threads or reacting this way after the conference call when this info was all but confirmed before hand. It's not like we haven't had time to prepare for such news...lol.

There were a couple similar responses about the PC version's lack of online too.
Oh well...I guess maybe the disappointment is sinking in late?...lol.

There's discussion on the "Baseball (Other)" forums that the WBC will be included in Power Pros 2009...so yes, the tournament will be included in a 2K game this year, just not the one we're thinking of.

Despite that, I highly doubt the WBC will be added as downloadable content for 2K9 this year, but it'd be awesome to see. Nothing to call VC or 2K out on, though. It's not, by any means, a necessity, despite the added value we can get out of a feature like that.

They can't add it next year. The WBC is every three years.

Considering everything else Visual Concepts had to do to get MLB 2K9 finished this year, I'm personally glad they spent time and resources on other features besides the WBC.

It takes a lot less effort to make the WBC than the Home Run Derby. They already have postseason tourneys in 2K9.

And the WBC is more fun to play than to watch.

It would be nice to have but alas, it doesn't bother me one bit. More interested in MLB season. Maybe in the future though

Exactly my point. I am not losing sleep over it. WBC is overrated anyways.. how many of the star players do not even go for crying out loud.

The game is called MLB 2k9 not WBC 2k9, so if this is a game killer for anyone, well that's a shame considering it's a bonus if it were even to be in the game.

EA does that with FIFA/Euro Cup, so why not 2K?

I want WBC. Just like getting the Pirates to win the World Series in 2009 is a big challenge, imagine having to win the WBC with China or South Africa?
