    Payoff Pitching in 2K9?

After watching all of the videos with Steve pitching, I can't recall seeing the payoff pitch locations showing up, or the pitch ratings increasing or decreasing with good pitches.

Also, there doesn't seem to be anyfeed back to the user as to how they executed the pitch gesture either. I realize there is 2-step pitching to make it simpler, but I think Steve is using the 3-step model in the latest Jays videos so I was expecting to see somthing to help the user know how well they are pitching.

Seeing how the VC team is trying to make the game more accessible I would have thought these features would be in the game.

Overall I like the way the game is looking this year, but I did like payoff pitching.

Thoughts? Or does anyone have any info on this?

Payoff is in the game according to Bigfnjoe. If it's not, blame him, not me. I doubt I'll be using the R stick pitching. I tried it last year and it's too much work, plus the yellow pitch target is really annoying. As far as pitch ratings going up/down, I personally don't like stuff like that in games. But I understand the concept. I just haven't come across any game where they program that sort of thing properly. It's always overdone.

OMG! You're totally right, I sorta forgot about that, and I even just played 2K8 last night. Yeah, that would be a huge omit if it's not there. I enjoyed both the "Payoff Pitch" and the"Pitch Execution." I'm gonna assume that they are not there, which would mean to me that there has been quite a bit of stuff has been taken out of this game. I don't like that either. Once you master the controls, it becomes to easy to get all your pitch ratings maxed out, which isn't realistic especially with crappy pitchers.

I think The Show dings your pitcher's ratings if he throw balls instead of strikes. How unrealistic is that? Like pitchers never throw balls intentionally. I definitely hope we can shut that featuire off in 2K9.

I know...I HATE that!...lol. I like the concept o confidence and, more importantly, individual pitch confidence, but it shouldn't be simply tied to balls and strikes.

There are plenty of times you intentionally pitch balls and also plenty of times where you pitch "bad" strikes. It should be more based on location relative to where you intended and pitch count, than it is currently.

Payoff pitches in 2K8 are sometimes out of the strike zone (on purpose).

No...I know. I was talking about what baa7 alluded to with The Show's system. It's just one of the things that has bugged me with the other game. I was a bit off-topic, so sorry for the confusion...lol.
