yeah it's true, but I did strike out a couple batters looking but it is very rare to strike a hitter out at all even with swings because they hack away at everything and usually make contact even when you paint the corners

Honestly, while this is a problem with the game, it's not as big of one as you might think. The game is so fun otherwise, and the pitching, fielding, and hitting mechanics feel so good that honestly I havent even been checking to see how the outs come. It is harder to get the AI out this year, but not impossible. The pitcher- batter duel feels better, in turn because you have to hit your spots as a pitcher and wait for your pitch as a hitter.

They do...especially early in the count. For some reason the become more discerning whn down 0-2...lol. It's not as horrible as some might make it out, but it's also something to watch as they are too aggressive overall IMO.

Hopefully the dramatic tie-in to IE can be worked around. Won't be able to really put this issue to bed (for better or worse) until the retail copy is toyed with.
