    Final Product Questions

After playing the demo several times I was wondering if the final game will offer the following:

    1) A way to turn off the ball trail

    2) A way to adjust pitch speed

    3) Offer alternate controls to the swing stick and the pitching mechanic where the big ball is not utilized....That thing is awful

    4) An option to have zone hitting versus controlling on whether you hit the ball in the air or on the ground....Most HR's are hit due to timing, not because a hitter is swinging up

    5) Are HR celebrations on in the demo or is there a way to turn them on? I was disappointed to see that the bell did not animate when a HR was hit by Philly (yes, small gripe)

    6) Stadium attendance impacted by team's record and / or prestige (i.e Red Sox and Cubs sellout regardless of record, just to name a couple)
    What?

After playing the demo, I thought wow, 2k7 is the way for me.

That's cool, I didn't know about the attendance thing, just like the old Maddens had.

Thanks for the feedback. The demo was a major disappointment so I am going to rent and hopefully tweaking will help provide the experience I am looking for...

I actually really enjoyed the demo and am looking forward to the finished product.

Will the cursor based hitting system also be able to be used to with the button configuration for swinging too (not the hit stick)?

Even though i loved the demo, im curious about a couple of things.

                  1) Is their take out slides that actually break up a play?

                  2) Fans move up and down the isle.

                  3) Will there be more overlays and camera cuts like to the dugout?

                    Re: Final Product Questions

My question: are historical/alternate jerseys in the game (they were in there last season).

And are those jerseys a little easier to unlock (i.e. what's the impact of the card system? How is it redone?).

                      Re: Final Product Questions

                      I'll add a few:

Does anyone actually know how much "older" this version is than the retail? I saw some nice videos on OS that had guys chest bumping at the plate after a homerun, and showing some sort of emotion after a particularly inspiring play. I hit quite a few homeruns playing the demo, and never saw anything resembling some emotion from either the player, or his teammates.

My R-stick hitting did not work like pressing up after setting the batter. I had to actually ride the right side of the stick's boundary like I was throwing a hook punch in Fight Night. I am okay with that I guess, but seesm odd that when I pushed forward on the stick from 6o'clock to 12 o'clock, nothing happened.

Game winning hits provided no celebration. I gave up a game winning HR and the Phillies team all gathered at the plate, well, they were kind of near the plate... and they totally ignored the batter who crossed the plate and walked all alone to the dugout. Totally lame.

So, bottom line, and without guessing, do we have anyone who can confirm if this demo was made from a final build of the game to be released in 6 days, or is this indeed an earlier version that was sent to MS for demo approval before the last sets of tweaks and presentation upgrades?

according to what the mod ronnie said over at the 2k forums, yes you can use zone/cursor with either the hit stick or button

no body knows for sure how much older because there hasn't been any word from 2k developers saying how old but people are assuming that it will be 2 months older then the retail version, as they probably turned this demo into MS and Sony at the end of Jan. because it takes a little while for demo's to go through the approval process, and you have to remember this is a pretty bare bones demo, they took alot out just so people can catch the comentary and real world features as well as see they have tightened up game play and fixed frame rate
