No time frame yet, shooting for opening day or a couple weeks after at the latest. I started them about 3 weeks ago and will pick up the pace now. Each team takes me about 3 hours and I use formulas for most ratings. Everything will be edited on the players including player equipment down to their cleats, batting and pitching styles as well. Just thought I'd throw this out there. I also have VERY solid sliders for game play. The sliders are for a very challenging game using payoff and classic swing, and is what enabled me with the go ahead on these rosters, along with the visual on this game. These are being made for a true sim style exp. thanks Josh
If anyone is intrested I am creating an 09 roster for 2k7

Re: If anyone is intrested I am creating an 09 roster for 2k7
Ok, I am back at it. After reading through these forums like a mad man I have went back to the drawing board to finally figure out how to eliminate the too many home runs issue in 2k7. This game after my tweaks and sliders looks way too good and is too much fun to let go. I am a roster junkie and love editing. My NFL2k5 roster took me over a year to perfect and know I am convinced I can get 2k7 to a new level. A little background, I am a 28 year old obviously ex baseball player, drafted in '98 and '99 by the Giants and pretty much only play sports sims. All the way back to Baseball Stars, to MVP05 for the xbox, I have been creating rosters using formulas and a little knowledge to keep games alive that I think are great, that being said hear me out, or not. lol. I thought I could fix the hr issue with sliders, which helps but player editing a certain attribute is the key. That attribute is home run at the bottom of editing players. The power rating means nothing, by this I mean go to your roster set and edit a players power for both L and R to 0 their overall rating does not change, nor does their performance. So after a bunch of testing using the Yanks in Pittsburgh (allowing me to feast on bad pitching) I came up with a new scale. I use a scale ranging from 100 to 12 for the players power. For ex a guy hits 35 hr's last year he gets 85 power and so on down the line based on an average of 550 ab's per yer. I use this for guys who hit 8 hr's in 242 ab's there fore they would get a rating base on 14 to 17 hr's using my knowledge. What I used to do was set their home run attribute at the bottom of the editing screen, the same number as their power rating. What I came up with is 45 to 65 is plenty enough of a rating to hit a home run so guys that have for ex 100 power rating (not many) would get a 70 rating for home runs. The average 20 hr's per year guy gets 57. Hope this all makes sense. Anyone who wants to test this roster I am working on Pm me. I know how to get my 2k5 roster out there but these I am not sure. The only way I could think of is through xbox live. My gamer tag is mojorises send me a friend request and I think you can download my files, anyone who knows more let me know. I have about 10 teams done but only the Yanks and Angels have this new power theory implemented. Most pitchers have not been touched either. There next, I have big plans for them as well, like correct pitches and speed using a great web site I found. I rather focused on the hitters and I am glad I did after what it took to achieve a real baseball game. I almost quit, but after reading throughout the forums for hours last night I had to give it another shot. The NL West and Pit are done check out the uni's on the guys there dead on. Like I said the Yanks and Angles only have the new power rating theory. thanksLast edited by jsou4646; 03-01-2009, 03:58 PM.Comment

Re: If anyone is intrested I am creating an 09 roster for 2k7
Jsou, I think you're likely going to have to go a similar route to NFL 2K5 on the 360 for this. I don't think there is a roster share function with 2K7 and Xbox Live frowns upon file sharing on it's own.
A quick note, your formula for pwr seems about right to the naked eye. I remember doing a very watered down version of that for 2K7 when it was new, mainly for my team however.
Also, you may want to take the same route you did with your 2K5 rosters in terms of ratings...meaning a form of the -25 theory, particularly in terms of pitching. I'll PM you some more thoughts a bit later when I get a chance to fiddle with 2K7 a bit and see what help I can offer, if any.Comment

2k7 was the best baseball game 2k ever put out. I mean you have graphics, and gameplay is still better. 2k8 you have problems with stealing rarely you see a cpu attempt a steal. 2k9 not even going to talk about it.
