Chase/TJ, I have 3 questions....

During the playoffs, can you tell the difference between the atmoshpere of a standard regular season game?

Also during the playoffs, is there any NLCS/ALCS or World Series type of banners or logo's on the field or along the outfield wall?

During franchise mode, do you have GM responsibilities such as setting ticket prices, determining transportation, stadium upgrades, Owner goals, or getting fired?

About commentary...When Gary and Steve are starting a conversation, if the ball is hit into play during it, do they resume once the out/hit is recorded or do they quit?

I heard them resume a conversation in the demo last night.

what jersey options do the mets have? last year they left out the road jersey (despite coverboy jose reyes WEARING it on the cover)
ideally should have all white (home), grey (road), and black (alternate) and pinstripe (alternate home)

The no banners for postseason kinda make me mad. Almost every game has had those.

Also do night games have that atmosphere of a real night game? Do stars or clouds come out? A moon? Hows the rain? Lastly, are their any ambiant sounds like planes flying by (mlb 2k8 style)? Those might be my biggest worries. Ive been wanting good night games for ever!

-Did they fix the "pickle problem?" (unrealistic run down where the cpu just throws back and forth between the bags without actually chasing the runner down?)

-Pickoffs were a little TOO EASY to throw big lead runners out...did they tone down?

-Did they tweak the artifical turf-like ball physics on grounders?

-Can you click on your team's or your opponents team's players and view their ratings in a game?...In the demo, I cant figure out to see ratings to make game sub decisions

-Are there more pitcher and batting camera options than last years game?

-Does the CPU take more pitches realistically and better work the count in the final copy?

-does the gameplay have some of the chugginess smoothed out from the demo version?

-Overall feel of the final in comparison to the Demo?...Same?..differences?...better?

There's a Pickoff Success slider for that.

Yes. Steve's screenshots already showed that you can fully customize the batting/pitching cameras (height, zoom, etc.)

Nope, you can only change camera angles for pitching and hitting.

My question has to do with editing SCABS and the fake players (minor leaguers under fake name) will we be able to edit their apperances like facial hair ahnd hair styles etc? Thanks

This will be easy. Play the three inning demo game, then play the same teams, same park, etc.. and give us some basic impressions as to the (if any) differences that may have been tweaked for the final copy.

Based on the retail version that you have can you comment on the differences from the demo that we have based on:

Graphics - Jaggies, faces, animations, replay cut scenes

Basically does the in game play look any different that what we've seen as of Tuesday

I've gone back between the two a couple times now, and I can't say I notice many big graphical changes. From farther away camera views I'd say the jaggies are a bit less pronounced in the final version, and there is a certain smoothness to the overall graphics that perhaps isn't as noticeable in the demo. Otherwise, I can't tell many differences. But I think you'd need to see the two side by side to really be a good judge, and I can't do that.

Beyond that, there are obviously replays in the retail version, and I've seen 3 now. During the two HR replays the game looked smooth, but during the one replay where it was just a regular hit, the ball slowed down a bit coming out of the pitcher's hand and it looked a bit funky. I'll be interested to see if that happens during other non-HR replays.

Also the game seems to hold near the 60, but I did see it dip/slow at one point when retrieving the ball in the corner. The frame rate didn't chug, the game just slowed for a moment.

I'd just like to note that I zipped a ball back up the middle and beaned Kazmir in between the shoulder blades; he picked the ball up after and made the play at first, what a soldier.

How close can you zoom in on the behind-the-catcher hitting view?

You can zoom to "10"

can you change the fielding view? Are there fielding view presets like last year (broadcast, pole, etc) ?

There are no fielding camera views in the camera settings area or any other area in the options in-game. I don't know where else they could be hiding, so a tentative no.

are there 'no doubters' where the camera is different for the HR?

Is there a baserunning tutorial?

My guess is no, at least not when you hit the HR. I hit a second deck shot with Ryan Howard (sup 3-1 fastball) and there was no special camera that came into play.

I know in the demo there wasn't any (players passing through each other, bat boys, etc.).

Just simmed to the playoffs in franchise mode...no bunting, no logos. Sorry.

Why God, WHY?!!!!!!!!!!I was hoping that the playoffs would look different than a regular season game.Even 2k8 had playoff bunting!(Well, Fenway did...Why not Angel Stadium Kush?!)

What the hell is playoff mode for then?Hearing the commentators mention how it's game 3 of the ALDS?I want to see bunting and a "09' Divisions Series" logo on the grass like how it is for the All Star game in the video Steve posted.


We've been asking for this stuff for YEARS, and they ignore us AGAIN!

Are the fans at least louder for the playoffs?

Thank god we are getting close to the time when all of these guys should be retired. 1994 was 15 years ago, so it shouldn't be too much longer.
