Video Showing Batters Taking Strikes etc.

First, the quality is not good, sorry, but I think you can get an idea of how the batter's in 2K9 will take a pitch and a strike at that. Also, you can get an idea of how Inside Edge is used and applied to pitching.

If you can guess the soundtrack and where it's from, I'll give you a dollar.

twib's your answer. Sorry youngsters here that never experienced the real twib. Now, this game looks good. Damn it! Looks like I gotta spend $120 this baseball season. Of corse that could change by the demo tomorrow. Hope it can match this

I'm waiting for that PS3 demo as well. I've already got 2K9 pre-ordered at Amazon(Free release day delivery for both), but that could change in a heartbeat.

This video is really encouraging as far as the AI taking strikes though.

It's really up and down, and clearly an issue, but it's not as dramatic as some make it out, IMO. The extent is hard to determine is all. Hopefully it's somthing as simple as a slider adjustment here or there and bumping up from the "pro" setting the demo is played on.

What also concerns me (related) is the CPU's complete ineptitude at the plate. They "can no hit curveball" (obligatory Pedro Cerrano reference) or anything with break effectively. I'm much more confident that this is something that can be attributed to difficulty level though.

Dave, thank you for posting this. This is the same discovery I made this morning after playing the demo for a bit. Between the size of the cursos and the angle of the camera, I think pitching normally leaves a lot more pitches of the middle of the plate than it appears.

Well Steve tried adjusting some sliders & still couldn't manage to calm down the AI batters all that much. So lets hope his preview build wasn't as finely tuned as the final retail version. But I think you're right about the curvball issue, difficulty level should correct that for sure.
