2K has always had these funky throwing animations. This isn't anything new.

Yeah, I see it in 2K7 at times. Never completely sideways though, at least I personally have never seen it that bad, but the fielder animations appear to be throwing in weird directions sometimes in 2K7 for sure.

In fairness, the guy in that video was playing like a moron. That Upton thing would never happen if someone who wasn't an idiot was playing. I'm not going to say I wouldn't like it if this wasn't possible, but hardly a big deal to me personally.

Hard to say, but it looks like they're actually somewhat worse this year than I remember. I've never seen anything as obviously bad as that throw in the first pic. But I've seen a SS running down a groundball as he's moving towards third, and "throwing" to first while his body is pointed towards the stands. That's the worst one I remember. And you could replicate that one over and over.

I really don't care about the animations. I care about simulation and realism in results.

Simballer has already stated they didn't do much this year around animations & that they will address it next year..

With all the work this game needed I'm willing to give them a pass this year:

There are a LOT of new animations in the game this year. It wasn't realistic for us to do a complete animation replacement, so you'll surely see some animations from years past still in the game. Moving forward, we'll be working on cleaning this up. If you've ever played a VC developed game, you'll know that animations are very important to us.

OK, I am confused. How was 2k8 so much worst than 2k7. I thought 2k7 made such a great job from 2k6. I heard a lot of bad about 2k8, but I thought they had a good thing to built off for this game. So why did they not work on the those weird animation?
