Im bad at pitching...sheesh!!!

In the full game I am horrible at pitching. I lost my first game between the Yankees and the Royals, 90 to 1. I then played a minor league game and lost 25 to 20.

I havent adjusted the sliders, just trying to get a feel for it. But I cant pitch worth a damn. Not even in classic mode. Im not sure what the sliders do and there is a release circle that I haven't figured out yet.

Despite all of this it is an appealing game and despite my pitching woes, Im not ready to give up yet.

sounds like me. I was losing to the giants 25-1 in the 7th before I decided to quit and go to the practice mode. I still cant get the pitching down good. My fielding is getting better. I need auto-fielding!!

thats what i love about this game, it make you not be so one dimensional when pitching unlike the show where you have the button pitching( not knocking this at all or trying to start a riot. l have the show also). it make you have to use wisdom when pitching. i tried to pitch to rollins( three consecutive curvballs with santana), the first two he swung at but the last one he didnt, then i tried to hit him with a fast ball up in the zone and he took it out of the park. it was amazing to see how he adjusted to the pitches where as last year he would have swung at all three of them for the out. to me this is a major improvement.

Not only 90 to 1, but I believe every player hit for the cycle in that game!

I'm not even sure what Im doing with the tutorial. I just cant figure out the pitching, not even in classic mode. The sliders are not as extensive as in 2K7 (I skipped 2K8). There's no explanation as to what they really do.

When pitching, do you know about placing the ball cursor not where the ball will end up, but where it will break? I believe this game doesn't show the break icons, so people might be confused about them, especially when you say that you skipped 2K8. I believe it was first introduced in 2K8 and probably forgot to tell people about it in the new version.

I used classic pitching at first cuz I thought it would be easier, but now I am using the stick pitching and loving it. There's an option in the controller setup that let's you choose breakpoint aiming or pinpoint aiming.

Just wait till you get the game they have a training mode for pitching where you can just go in and learn how to pitch.

It's really pretty simple. Place the ball with the left stick, make your first motion with the right stick, let the circle fill up, then make the second motion again with your right stick, and there you have it.............

I thought it was hard at first, but after a few hours I got the hang out it. Now I get 3-4 K's a game in the demo. It's quite simple, first do the 1st movement. This is the most simplist of the 2. For example, for a fastball you would move the joystick down. When this happens, a circle will fill up with yellow. Once you feel satified with the effort of the pitch(the bigger the circle, the more effort) do the second movement, which for a fastball would be up.
