    PC Version Controller Issues

I was using the XBOX 360 wireless receiver with an XBOX 360 wireless controller and the controller did not function properly so I plugged in a wired XBOX 360 controller and it worked perfectly. Is anyone else experiencing problems in trying to use the the XBOX 360 wireless controller with the PC version of MLB 2K9?

I predicted this.. 2K is so lazy. I don't have the game yet, but if that's an issue, I have a wireless 360 controller and I can't really believe how they can't port the controls properly. They couldn't do it correctly for MLB Front Office Manager either.

        Re: PC Version Controller Issues

I use a wireless 360 controller for NBA2K9 on PC and experienced issues with it originally but figured out what it was and it didn't bother me after that.

I assume the left and right triggers aren't being recognized, correct? And perhaps the left analog stick? If you go into the controller configuration screen, you have to remap some of the buttons, the L/R triggers specifically, and make sure that you save it. And then sometimes when I relaunched the game I would have to go back into the configuration screen but I would only have to remap one button (I just did the start button, first button in the menu) every time and then the rest of the controller would work correctly.

Well, in order to get the wireless controller working correctly I had to do some remapping of the thumb sticks and triggers. In order to do this I had to leave the corded controller plugged in so I could remap the buttons in the different categories such as batting, pitching, and baserunning. The only way I could get the categories to change was when using the corded controller. Normally you use the left and right trigger to change categories but for whatever reason this does not work when using the wireless controller, however, the left and right triggers now work when changing teams in the play ball or "exhibition" mode and they also work perfectly in all aspects of gameplay such as advancing and returning baserunners.

I spoke to soon, the wireless controller is back to not functioning properly even though all actions are mapped correctly to the controller. Again the corded controller works fine. I have tried changing a setting on the controller as recommended but it still does not work properly. I have my PC hooked up to a 24 inch 1920 x 1200 monitor which is fine for the corded controller but I also have a 50 inch 1080P Sony SXRD TV that I would like to use the wireless controller with.

Yeah, I just saw that over at the 2K boards. I really do not undestand why this is the case but it is not a game breaker, well, it isn't for me at least. I planned on getting the XBOX 360 version of the game for my son anyways. I just liked the idea of playing on the PC with much crisper and cleaner graphics.

It's not a game breaker for me either, but it is strange. And I really think it demonstrates the lack of effort they put forth in their ports. I bought my girl a wired 360 controller, so I just switched controllers and gave her my wireless one.

FWIW, There is a trick to making it work. I remember having to do something with Rainbow six 2 for it to work on wireless. Cant find or remember what it is, but if you scour google for it you might find the trick.
