Is there a turbo button, or mechanic that I don't know? I feel like I just don't know the controls. If this really is a gameplay problem, is it fixed in the final version?
What am I missing with the fielding controls?

What am I missing with the fielding controls?
I think this might just be me, but is anyone else seeing jogging outfielders? Also, are there moments where the outfielder doesn't seem to see the ball (ie your on the spot and it hits him or goes right past)? Similarly, players doing a strafe motion rather than running so its tough to get there in time?

Re: What am I missing with the fielding controls?
No...the fielding sucks for a few reasons.
Like you said, the outfeilders will boot easy fly balls and let other balls pass them and go to the fence.
The throwing mechanics are extremely inconsistant causing way to many lob throws.
The camera angle is bad. -

In reference to fielding in the Outfield. It seems that they've made it so you can let the controller go slowly as you get close to the Ball Indicator & the fielder will go into a somewhat automatic fielding animation & catch the ball.
If you are still moving while trying to catch the ball there's a good chance your gonna drop it.Comment

Re: What am I missing with the fielding controls?
The only problems I've seen so far are the slo-mo to warp speed outfielders. It's not yet affected a play.
One thing that has is the fact that the 2nd baseman and the short stop are too close to the 2nd base bag. On two occasions, I've seen shortstops ranging over from thier area to catch a ball on the other side of 2nd. And these were no slow rollers either, they were line drives and blistering grounders. And and this wasn't behind the bag in shallow left either, this was directly across the bag.
That's the only real issue I've seen so far that really bugs me.Comment
