Thats exactly what happened to me as well. Very buggy aspects to this game, yet somehow still fun

That may explain it. It may not I don't even know any more.

There is fun to be had with this game, but there are too many head scratching little issues as well.

I think it's a year away from being ready for prime time.

Because you see something different then what I see, you say lets be honest. I didn't see the swing fest in the demo and I still don't see it now. I have been able to strike out the cpu with pitches down the middle and on the corners and I have also had the cpu wait patiently forcing me to come inside a little more. I wasn't the only to experience this after the demo came out. Now does that mean it's not there for you and others, of course not. But you certainly can't tell me what I'm seeing my friend. I love the fielding and I have not seen the "many" drops as you say, but you have and that's cool. I know what I have seen so far and I stand by everything that I have said.

I didn't try the 2 step pitching for that reason, but for me the CPU is no where near as agressive as what I have been reading. This game is not perfect, but it's definitely a good first effort. You picked a good word fun, and that's exactly what it is, a fun game of baseball. I don't have as good of an eye to pick out the issues like most people, I admit that, but this game will definitely hold my attention for a while.

LOL, I think you got a rare "fixed" copy of the game. Seriously, have you found good sliders or something because the CPU is doesn't let a thing go by them

Yeah, this is pretty much what I'm seeing in my games today too. We all saw it in Steve's videos as well. The sooner we all admit there is a problem with the AI, the sooner VC will realize that they need to fix it. So everyone please do us all a favor and just admit that the AI is TOO aggressive at the plate. Yes, the AI will watch an occasional pitch go by, but if you've ever watched a real MLB game, you have to admit that the AI Batting in this game needs tweaked.

LOL, okay now that was funny. Seriously I'm playing on all star with no slider adjustments. I never adjust sliders unless something is glaring like the home run fests of the past few 2k baseball series. I kid you not, I saw the same thing in the demo. Of course not ever cpu batter is ultra patient, but for me it's nothing like what I have been reading in OS. I remember there were a few others who had the same experience I did in the demo.

Just heard a plan flying over in the Mets new stadium, nice touch. I was looking around for a few seconds like WTF.

He's likely talking controls more than results. I think that's the thing when it comes to a lot of fans of the 2K brand of baseball.

People seem to equate gameplay primarily to controls in many cases (not saying that's definitely the case here, but that's been what I've seen in general). I personally, get no real satisfaction from great controls that lead to lesser results. To each his own though.

The human part of the batting and pitching is actually good this year. It's just the AI part that needs some fixing. Although the AI pitching is actually nice too, so it's just the AI batting that I really have a problem with

6.8 sounds about right to me...I played the PS3 demo and it is pretty bad....once again, when does this exclusive deal expire?....

AHA, The root of the problem!!! sorry but you just lost your credibility, no game is perfect out of the box and almost always need sliders to respectively play the sport it is trying to simulate. I'm guessing your understanding of "taking pitches" is 4-5 a game.

Lost credibility? Your kidding right. What's perfect to you may not be perfect to me and vice versa. My expectations of how this game should play are certainly drastically different then most of you. That's why I don't nit pick because I don't see what you see. Not saying nit pick in a negative way but you know what I mean. I play NBA 2K9 and NHL 2K9 and I get great games out of both with minimal slider adjusts in NBA and zero in NHL 2K9.

I expect the AI batters to behave as closely as possible to their real life counterparts. I know I can't expect perfection from Artificial Intelligence, but I definitely expect more than what we have right now in 2K9. The AI Batting was better than this in terms of aggressiveness 2 years ago in 2K7. If Kush could do a better job with AI aggression 2 years ago, then I have to wonder why VC can't do at least as good of a job with it now

I can understand that. I can't wait to play that other game to see if I notice any difference in what you and others are talking about as far as what this game is lacking. For me 2k9 plays really well. I read a recent review where the person said they were getting 20 hits a game playing it right out of the box. Again that hasn't happened to me. Go figure.
