    Stealing bases- a little assistance

I'm totally digging this game so far, but I can't seem to figure out the best way to steal bases. It seems that every time I attempt, the CPU will throw to first and tag me out in a rundown. I have waited to "base stealing counts (ie not just running on the first pitch), I have only taken 1 leadoff step (it seems as holding down the trigger will always make your player take an extra step before vibrating), but I really am having a hard time doing this with any consistency.

Is there a slider which will help? Or is there a strategy that I am overlooking?

Other than that- this game plays great. I have also found that by pitching balls, pitching to the corners and pitching to the CPU's weak spots on IE, that I can really exploit the CPU's agressiveness and even get them to be more patient and take strikes looking. One tip is throw more early off speed pitches, they hack more when you consistently throw first pitch fastballs.

    Also, two other gripes:

    1. Alexei Ramirez looks TERRIBLE! Like a super skinny Jorge Posada.

    2. What's with the trees in the bullpen at Coors?!?!? How hard is it to accurately use pine tree? It's like they lost a pine tree licensing agreement to The Show or something.

    Anyways, lots of fun.

When are you releasing the Left Trigger? You are supposed to hold it until the pitcher goes into his windup and then release it at the exact moment you want to take off. Maybe you are letting go of it too soon?

That must be it- I hold til it vibrates and then release, but always way before the windup.

Thanks for your help, I will give that a try.

Yes, that would be it. They added the timing element in this year so you can tell your runner when exactly to take off. It's actually pretty nice once you get the hang of it.

And if you'll notice, the pitcher holds the ball at the set for various times for each pitch. You cannot just totally count it down and time it with a certain number of seconds each time. This was done pretty well.
