You have to mix it up throwing balls and strikes to the batters. But the strikes you do throw put have the ball out of the strike zone with the edge of it just barely touching the strike zone. The batters will take 10-20 strikes per game. I am playing on default pro difficulty. I also find throwing it on the lower outside or inside corners works the best to have them take pitches. It is much more likely for the to take the pitch if you throw them the fastball.

yeah but it's implimented terribly. Basically if you ever throw a strike on the first pitch, it will be swung at nearly 100% of the time.

Not realistic at all....not even close

It doesn't completely solve the problem but it does help us until they hopefully release a patch for the game. I have seen 6 or 7 first pitches taken in 2 1/2 games so far which is still low but it is better. I have only struck out one batter looking.

i strike out maybe 5-6 per game, but it seems to me that the only pitches the cpu really cannot ever hit are breaking balls...


they will swing though for them, lol

I have no problem striking batters out. I'm talking about them taking pitches not striking batters out just to clarify.

i was just adding to the discussion since
a. its been said about 100 times already in a day on this forum
b. its been argued 101 times that it doesnt work
c. not many people play on pro since its too easy

In my last game (played last 5 innings on All-Star) I had 22 pitches taken for strikes. This ACTUALLY works and if you don't want to try it you don't have to but it works.

We know this already. Unfortunately it doesn't come close to solving the problem completely. 2K/VC needs to officially fix this.

i think you aren't understanding my point and why people are saying this doesn't work. The goal isn't to just have the computer take strikes, it's for it to happen at a realistic rate and reason for it.

I should have to purposely throw tons of balls to have the cpu decide to occasionally not swing. Also, this doesn't work completely anyway because the cpu still swings on 3-0 counts constantly, which is beyond unrealistic.

I tried not throwing balls intentionally and I seemed to still get the same results those last 5 innings by throwing fastballs low in the zone. I know it isn't exactly perfect but it is a workaround until 2k patches the game which is what I said in my first post. 22 strikes taken by doing this is better then 1 or 2 I was getting before. I think you can get them to take without throwing balls by throwing right on the edge of the zone and low.
